Guests generally find Tŷ ar y Tro cottage to be a cosy and comfortable base for exploring Snowdonia, with good-sized rooms and essential facilities. While some guests mention limited local amenities and noise from the nearby road, the property is praised for its value, peacefulness, and suitability for scenic walks. One review notes issues with maintenance and cleanliness, but this is not a common theme.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with one exception reporting a smell of mould and worn-out furniture. As this is an isolated complaint, the score reflects the majority positive feedback.
The location is well-regarded for its proximity to walking routes and scenic areas, though limited local amenities are noted. The convenience for exploring North Wales is a highlight.
The majority of guests describe the cottage as cosy, quiet, and comfortable, with a good night's sleep assured. The presence of a comfortable bed and a peaceful environment contribute to a high comfort level.
Facilities are generally seen as adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and good-sized rooms. However, one review cites a malfunctioning shower and a need for garden maintenance, suggesting some areas require attention.
While guests appreciate the host's helpfulness and the provision of information, there are no specific mentions of gifts or additional thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

I enjoyed my stay at the cottage. It was clean, quiet and cosy. The bed was comfortable, so I had a great night's sleep every night. The cottage had everything I needed. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances and utensils, and there was plenty of space. The shower was hot and worked well, and there were plenty of towels. Gaining acces was easy due to the lock box, and the host sent me map pins of the most accesible roads in and out. Overall, I found the host to be very friendly, welcoming and helpful over text mesage - and always replied immediately. The location was perfect, as I wanted somewhere quiet, with nice, scenic dog walks. Danielle even sent me a map pin of a local walk, which included some breath-taking waterfalls! I enjoyed going to Portmeirion, Borth-Y-Gest and Criccieth beaches; and also walked along the Aberglaslyn Pas to Beddgelert; and visited Cwmorthin Falls. I would highly recommend this area and cottage.

The cottage had everything we needed. The local walks exceeded expectations. There are limited local amenities, the local shop is small and the local pub only serves food 2 nights a week, so you need to travel further afield if you want to eat out, however a Co Op is only a 10 minute drive away.Overall we thought the cottage was great value for money and a perfect base to explore Snowdonia.
