Guests say

Bryn Derwen in Harlech is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful location, and homely atmosphere. Guests consistently mention the property’s cleanliness, comfortable interiors, and thoughtful touches that make for a welcoming stay. The cottage is well situated for walks, the beach, and local attractions, making it ideal for families and those seeking a relaxing break. While access involves steps and a hill, and parking can be tight for larger vehicles, these are minor points compared to the overall positive experience. Occasional neighbour noise and minor amenity issues are noted but do not detract from the overall enjoyment.

Multiple reviews highlight the property as very clean, tidy, and well maintained, with some mentioning recent decoration. Only one review notes a minor issue with amenities, but overall, cleanliness is a consistent strength.

Guests love the spectacular views, proximity to the beach, and access to local attractions. The hillside setting and steps are mentioned, but most find the location peaceful and ideal for exploring the area.

The cottage is described as comfortable, homely, and spacious, with good mattresses in double rooms. One review notes a less comfortable single mattress and occasional neighbour noise, but overall comfort is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well received, with a well-equipped kitchen and pleasant outdoor space. Minor issues include a microwave needing replacement and some amenities being lacking, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.

Several guests mention thoughtful welcome gifts such as Welsh cakes and bara brith, and personal touches throughout the cottage. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Bryn Derwen. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived, with treats for us and the dog on arrival. The views from the property are wonderful and it was in easy reach (by car) to everywhere we wanted to explore. It did not negatively impact our stay but the single mattresses may need replacing as they seemed worn out.Huge thank you - we would definitely recommend Bryn Derwen to others who want to visit the area ☺️

Great location for Snowdonia and Lleyn Peninsula with mountains, coast and castles all within easy reach. Cottage was great with fabulous views towards the sea from just about every window. It was also so peaceful being near the end of a no through road and raised up on the hillside, no traffic noise and a dark sky for seeing the stars, when it wasn't cloudy!
