Hoot House is a comfortable and cosy property situated in wonderful surroundings in the Snowdonia National Park. Located a short drive from Tywyn, Aberdyfi and Fairbourne, this property is the perfect place to stay when looking to explore all the area has to offer. Cook yourselves a hearty meal in the well equipped kitchen and after sitting down to enjoy this with your family why not challenge each other to a game of chess or even table football. There is a great local pub less than half a mile (5-minutes walk) from the property.
Wander down to the Talyllyn Railway Station situated in Abergynolwyn and take the heritage steam trains in to Tywyn. From here you could take a walk on the beach, and on a nice day, tides and energy permitting, can even walk the 4 or so miles from Tywyn Beach to Aberdyfi Beach. Afterwards, treat yourself to a spot of lunch and then get the train back to Tywyn. Alternatively, Hoot House offers a great location for a number of other walks. There is the Quarryman’s Trail which visits the old mine of Bryn Eglwys slate quarry and boasts expansive views. Also you can walk to Dolgoch Falls right from the doorstep, just over 2½ miles away. If you fancy a real challenge, why not head over to Cadair Idris.
After all of this exploring come back to Hoot House and relax for the evening. Put your feet up and watching a film on the impressive TV, or sit in the conservatory taking in the surroundings, with the underfloor heating to keep you warm. Beach 8 miles. Shop 7½ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Stunning holiday in such beautiful location. Rolling hillside overlooking the back garden. Secluded waterfalls just across the road. Wonderfull walks to take and a gorgeous local country pub. The ultimate peace and quiet. What a delightful find.

Fantastic place has everything you could need., any problems (not that there was) owners available if needed. Cottage in superb surroundings. Very friendly village, great pub with great food and community cafe which was very nice.If you need shopping you can order in but otherwise be prepared for a car journey but we didn’t find that a problem.We would highly recommend Hoot House.

The Hoot House cottage is so much more than a holiday cottage. It is a fantastic house. With all the amenities that come with it. Spacious living room with beautiful animal paintings on the walls, kitchen with everything you need and more, superb garden room / conservatory with comfortable furniture, views on mountains all around. Excellent welcome pack much appreciated. Fantastic spacious bedrooms and power shower and even a game room. Super quiet, loads of birds, both in the garden and in the sky. Giant Red Kite flying over our head at no more than 15 feet. Both scary and fascinating. There are great walks in the surrounding mountains and lots of interesting places to visit not to mention the great pubs and restaurants we found there. Chris the owner made us feel really welcome, explained everything, gave us great tips on the surrounding area. Super host!Out of the four cottages we visited in the UK this year the Hoot House definitely scores the top “12 points”. We highly recommend it. Both as a super place to stay and as a location from where you can explore the surrounding countryside.
