What our customers say about their holidays

Myself and my husband stayed a week at Adams cottage.
To say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay is an understatement. We would have happily stayed another week or more! The cottage itself was very cosy and inviting with beautiful and calming decor. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of fizz (my favourite) and lovely chocolate ginger biccies ( again a personal favourite). We thought this was a lovely gesture. The kitchen was fantastic and well equipped should you want to cook and eat in. There was a hair dryer and hair straighteners too which I ended up not using as I was too relaxed and not caring how I looked. Our bed was king-sized and very comfortable and the pillows were too. Myself and hubby slept in each morning. The shower was powerful with constant hot water. Overall such a lovely cottage. Imagine wakening up to cows mooing and sheep bleeting. Making your morning cuppa and seeing cows in the fields. Absolute bliss. Our hosts were a lovely couple who were so friendly and helpful and on hand if needed. They both kindly gave us a tour of their farm and animals. The newborn lambs were adorable. It was lovely to meet the horses, cows, sheep and lovely Mist the sheepdog. It's lovely to meet a genuine family who are passionate about animals and their work. I guarantee you'll enjoy your stay and be left with magical memories.

Overall I had a lovely week at the cottage.
Beach not too far away although would take car if children very small as its all uphill on the way back. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well equipped with everythingyou might need to cater for your family dinners, even the knives were sharp, something I have found lacking in most holiday homes. Beds were really comfortable too. I lost the front door key on my first day there and the owner could not have been more helpful and understanding. The only negative is the seating. Sofas were fine for the kids but I found them impossible to sit on for any length of time. There are also ercol chairs and small ercol couch in the kitchen but again, although these look nice, they are not fit for relaxing into. I spent most of my time sitting at kitchen table. There is nice comfortable garden furniture which I used while my grandchildren played outside, it's unfortunate that the old garden furniture hasn't been removed as this really limits the outside space especially if you want to make use of the outside washing line as I did to hang wet suits etc. However the cottage is in a beautiful quiet location and is a great base for the beach at coldingham and surrounding areas. Better sofas to lounge in would make this property perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay.
The owners left a welcome pack of crisps, Prosecco, biscuits plus fresh milk from their own cows - a lovely touch! The cottage was spotlessly clean and had quality fixtures and fittings. The owners have obviously taken a great deal of care and attention to detail with the property. The bed was very comfortable, the cottage was warm and well furnished with everything you could need. Parking wasnât an issue as there was plenty of space in the farmâs courtyard. Mist, the farm collie was a sweetie too! Our dog had use of a little part of the garden which you could use to sit outside if the weather is nice. We were visiting family at Edinburgh which was just under an hour away so it was handy for us - Berwick was about 15 minutes away too, Eyemouth about 10 minutes and Dunbar about 30 minutes or so. The cottage had a book of walks so we walked from to Coldingham Bay and along the creel path to St. Abbs; it was a lovely 7 miles along footpaths and the beach, well worth doing if you have time. We would have liked to have stayed longer but sadly we werenât able to but will no doubt visit again. Thank you Barry and Elizabeth

Barry and Elizabeth have created an extremely comfortable holiday cottage at Adamâs House.
We were met with a nice friendly welcome, including a welcome pack of ground coffee, fresh farm eggs and biscuits, and our hosts were very helpful throughout our stay. We had planned a week of snorkelling round the Berwickshire coast so the drying room was a major factor when we chose Adamâs House. All our wet equipment went in each evening and was thoroughly dry in the morning when we needed it again. The house itself is well appointed, stylish, warm and comfortable. Comfy bed, good strong shower and a cookâs kitchen - good quality equipment, everything you could possibly need including sharp knives! All the entertainment worked perfectly - Sky, TV, Bluetooth speaker, and clear and comprehensive instructions for their use were supplied. Private garden at the back with views over the rolling countryside from a sheltered table and chairs, ideal for breakfast outside or a place to sit of an evening. A very peaceful and tranquil place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend Adamâs House to anyone planning a holiday in the area. We plan to return...

When we arrived the cottage was clean and there is everything you needed.
The bedrooms are light and airy and the beds are extremely comfortable. We found the sofas in the living room not so inviting though and therefore spent most of our evenings in the kitchen. The little garden at the back could be lovely if only it was maintained better. The decking had not been swept and the trees were over hanging and needed cutting back to let some more of the glorious sunshine in that we had whilst there. There is a new rattan sofa and chairs which are comfortable but the old table and chairs (which were too rickety to sit on) were still there and looked unsightly. It was the same with the front garden. There were 2 chairs that were too old to sit on. There did seem to be a welcome basket too, but it hadn't been refilled which was a shame. However, we did enjoy our stay and its a great base for exploring the surrounding area and the weather was great.
