What our customers say about their holidays

We had a wonderful stay at Clashindeugle.
The owners were excellent with their communication. The bedrooms were all comfortable and warm. The main lounge and kitchen/dining area was plenty big enough for everyone (12 people) to be comfortable and not feel "on top" of one another. The games room was enjoyed by everyone. Outside, there was plenty of parking. The views across the fields were fabulous and I enjoyed watching the sunrise over the mountains each morning from the kitchen sofa. There were some lovely walks straight from the house, which we enjoyed. The area itself has many lovely pubs, cafes and restaurants and there are lots of places to visit, even during winter. A 45 minute drive took us to Culloden (free for national trust members) and Inverness. The Highland Zoo and Landmark were a great day out and only around 20 minutes away. We had an awsome afternoon on Loch Ness, thanks to Beastie Boats rib rides. The quad biking with Cairngorm Quad Treks was great fun too. Aviemore is around 30 minutes away, with lots of activities and a nice town for shopping with a decent Tesco. We had a big tesco home delivery on booked for our first day, then shopped locally as there is a good sized co-op in Grantown On Spey itself. There is also some lovely little craft and trinket shops as well as a great little pottery painting shop, Smarty Art, where we spent a lovely rainy afternoon painting. It was very reasonably priced and will post your items to your home once fired. All in all, another wonderful holiday in Scotland. Sadly, Clashindeugle is already booked out for next year, but we have booked another house in Grantown On Spey as there's much more for us to do yet!

Finding a holiday property that could accommodate our expanding family had proven difficult until I spotted Marl House.
The price was refreshing sensible and the amount of space inside and out was wonderful. The garden was as huge as it appears in the photos, then we found 3 further large lawns off to one side. We could have had football, cricket, croquet and badminton taking place in each lawned area at the same time! The house itself had large bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, dining rooms, games and table tennis rooms as well as a sitting room. Lots of areas to quietly read a book or chat. The kitchen was huge with a massive utility room attached. In total there were 3 large fridge freezers, two washing machines and two tumble dryers, all of which were well used. We cooked and shared meals together each day and baked biscuits and a cheesecake. All the equipment you needed was in the kitchen and generously supplied. There was no local food delivery to the house from supermarkets and the nearest shops were small. We had brought first meals and staples with us and shopped at Newton Stewart on the journey to the house for fresh produce. We also had 2 successful Amazon deliveries to the house during the week. On Wednesday tea time the mobile fish and chip van visits Garlieston, 10 minutes up the coast. The bay there is sheltered and shallow, you can walk out quite far and the water is still knee deep, the children spent hours in the sea and played on the beach. Other highlights were feeding the red deer in Galloway National Park and visiting the Otter Pools on the Ranger road, also travelling to the most southern point in Scotland, the Mull of Galloway and going up the lighthouse. The adults also enjoyed the whisky distillery tour and the gin tasting.

Newseat is a fabulous house.
Really well equipped and in a great location for exploring this part of Aberdeenshire. We had two teenage boys with us and found plenty to keep them occupied within an hour of the house. Go ape in Banchory(45mins) Lochter outdoor Centre( in Oldmeldrum30mins) & TheNordic Ski Centre in Huntly(15mins) are all great places to spend an afternoon. The bike trails at Glenlivet are within an hour and if Whisky is your thing Speyside is easily accessible! Huntly has a must visit butchers for all foodies in Forbes Raeburn, fabulous selection of local produce- the Sirloin Steaks were amazing! and really friendly staff. The local shop in Rhynie run by Sandy & his wife is well stocked and has beautiful fresh bakery everyday so if you donât feel like going anywhere you can always get something here and if you just want to chill in front of the fire the house is perfect for relaxing with two lovely areas so the kids can have there own space. Ann the owner couldnât have been more helpful and for anyone considering this area I couldnât recommend highly enough! A fabulous stay look forward to returning in the future the Maclennanâs.

We booked Newseat for a long awaited summer holiday of three family groups.
The place was immaculate, kitchen very well equipped which was great for us as we mostly cooked and ate in. The large dining table created a lovely central hub and we thought the dining space worked really well. There were plenty of bathrooms, comfortable beds, cosy furnishings: generally a great large country house that didnât ever feel like a squeeze or that anyone got a short straw with the bedrooms. The location is quite simply stunning. The view from this house is astonishing, we were lucky enough to have wonderful weather and just sitting in the front garden surveying the terrain was a special treat. Our host was very accommodating and allowed one of our party in early to drop off luggage. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area: we loved the falcon centre at Huntly, Leith Castle gardens, a trip to Aberdeen and the world class art gallery, trips to Findlatter and Sandend beach and fabulous drives to Ballater, the Cairngorms and Findhorn. Good for Pictish relics and circles as well as Tapâo North fort which you can climb and sits majestically just behind the house. We would love to return.

We absolutely loved the house.
There were a couple of quite minor things - internet was problematic in room next to table tennis room. The wifi boosters did not work for much of the week - may have been linked to the router in above room. Given there was no phone signal at the property it did make it difficult for some of our party who needed to do remote work whilst away. - hairdryers - could not find one in the whole house - not a big deal for our group but may be for other groups - mattresses - these were pretty soft - but we understand that mattresses are very much a personal thing and whilst firm mattresses suit us, that may not be everyone's choice. - the downstairs toilet and cupboard next to aga smelt very strongly of oil. - table tennis room - lock did not work (looked to be the wrong sized barrel for the door). We could secure the property with an internal door so was not a big deal.
