Wonderful
We had a wonderful time at Dyrham House. It was so lovely for the children (and us) to have so much space right there for them. Favourite things were the brook (where we managed to net and release some small fish and shrimps) and the hammock in the vegetable garden, cricket and badminton without leaving the gardens! Our daughter spent a lot of time learning to play a tune on the piano and loved the fully equipped kitchen where she baked cupcakes for an afternoon tea that we all enjoyed outside due to the good weather. I also wanted to mention Pauline, who already has our thanks - our youngest left some cuddly toys behind and only realised as we walked in the door on our return. Pauline's prompt response that they were safe and sound with her saved the day! He's looking forward to them arriving back home in the post; it was very kind of her to return them so quickly.

The house is fine, however.
.. We had to make some space in Cupboards for our food, we also moved some China cups out of reach of our children. When we left we received a message from the owner saying things were missing, we rang her straight up and explained they had been moved and are in a different cupboard, she had a very accusatory tone to my wife insinuating we had stolen the items. This upset my wife. A few days later we had a text saying the items had been found in another cupboard. A real shame to our stay - on this basis I cannot recommend the cottage - you may be accused of stealing cake tins. (My advice to the owner would be if such items are so close to your heart please replace things with items less valuable, and please accept that things may get moved, but insinuating theft is poor)

Beautiful grade II listed building lovingly maintained and upgraded. Perfectly situated to visit Bath and the Cotswolds, which we did during our stay. Near the Cotswolds Way walking path which my husband and children shared their hike with cows. The house is very spacious and nicely decorated. We found ourselves around the table in the kitchen the most! What a lovely room. Warm and toasty from the AGA range. Table overlooks a huge French door that opens to the garden. The gardens are spectacular. We enjoyed the wisteria, irises, peonies. The views from the rear of the house are unbelievable. Quintessential English country house. Don’t hesitate to book this house!
