What our customers say about their holidays

Bedlinog is a warm cosy cottage.
Although on the side of a road itâs pretty quiet and very little to no traffic at night. Itâs about a ten minute walk to Amlwch town centre where there is a chippy and a couple of take aways. There is a co-op which has a very good bakery and we loved the bread. Amlwch Port is only 5 mins by car and well worth a visit. There is amble off road parking at the house and I recommend you reverse in for ease of exiting on to the road, you can pull off the road adjacent to the house so cars can pass. The traffic does not pass fast but it is a bit blind on exiting so much easier to drive out rather than reverse. Though with a small car you can turn around in the houses drive itself. The heating is perfect and although it took a day to warm up as we went off season and the house had been empty once hot we kept turning it down as too hot lol. The shower is lovely and hot but it is a step to get into the bath and no grab handles, itâs not an issue but if like us older people itâs worth noting. The kitchen is well equipped and new, all the equipment is of a high standard. There is no grill pan in the cooker though there is a grill, from reading the instructions in the house the cooker was never supplied with one. If you want to grill you may want to take a grill pan with you. There are some lovely places to visit not far away. Parys Mountain about 5 mins away by car is an outstanding place for a walk in the old copper mine. The village of Bull Bay is within walking distance and Cemaes is about 5 miles away and a beautiful place. This is one of if not the best holiday home we have used and would highly recommend it, I would say itâs a home form home but itâs better than our house hahahahaha.

Wonderfully located holiday cottage.
We managed walks to all points of the compass in our week long stay. Penmon Priory and Point are easily walkable for those residents who are reasonably fit and active. We didn't quite make it down the steep last section to Llandonna/Red Wharf Bay but hope to do so the next time.. the walk to wonderful Beaumaris is a much more gentle affair. The fairly regular no. 59 bus can also take you there and bring you back, should you wish. The cottage itself is very comfortable and the decor is so tasteful. The cleaner informed me that the myriad of ceramic swifts or swallows on the wall and one corner of the kitchen ceiling are all hand made by the owner. Marvellous. The furnishings completely suit and complement the age of the property. Like with many properties of a similar age and style, considerable care has to be taken to avoid banging one's head, particularly where the bedroom conversion means the roof slants steeply away. The only difficulty we had, and ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem but during our stay my wife had to submit a very important piece of academic work online, is that the internet connection kept dropping out. Devices were still connected to the Wi-Fi, but only switching the router off and back on again re-established the connection. We had to do this a number of times. The civility and helpfulness of all of the local people we met, including the cleaning and caretaker staff, was very heartwarming. Overall, an excellent place to stay!

One of our most enjoyable stays in a holiday cottage.
Fabulous setting for remoteness and watching sunsets, also practically on the Wales Coast Path for walks to Red Wharf Bay in one direction and Penmon Point in the other. Old cottage with very good heating and hot water, large fridge/freezer and surprisingly good internet connection. It didn't bother us but we can see why some reviewers have commented on cleanliness. Much of the furniture is antique/vintage and many of the cupboards/drawers/shelves, etc in the property are either too cluttered with old stuff or not really clean enough for eg clothes, etc. To us it was rustic and charming and what you might expect in a remote location. The drive is fine for all except the most low-slung of cars. Beware the very sharp slab on the LHS on the bend just after the junction where you turn sharp left - it could slash a tyre. Keep in the ruts, ie in the centre of the track and you will be fine. We will be returning here.

On arrival noticably musty smell and again when you return from a visit.
the lack of guidance/instruction with regard to the day of bin collection and what should go in each of the bins. on arrival the small bins had been previously filled but on bin collection day the three small bins were not emptied by the binmen. The lawned area is not secure to keep a dog in. there is a low wire mesh fence which is not high enough and in poor condition. The overgrown condition of the hedges severely reduces the available space to sit out outside. the lawn needs to be cut . The double bed was comfortable but the pillows need replacing, they were very soft and provides no support. If the hedge outside the dining room was cut it would let in some light into a very dark space. Clearly, externally there is a need for some maintenance work to make the site more visually and practically presentable. We enjoyed the stay and the access to the numerous walks and good road access to the rest of the island.

Three Gates is a lovely peaceful cottage with beautiful views and close to the coast.
However the description was less than accurate. Access is indeed via a farm track but a 4x4 vehicle is essential to navigate the track to the cottage. Anyone in a standard family car may well struggle to reach the cottage and this should be made clear in the description. The cottage had all the facilities you could need for a holiday but some were in need of replacement. The shower was difficult to use and the "eclectic mix of furnishings" prevented adequate cleaning. The property was very dusty and some furnishings very worn and dirty. The photos on the website show bright and airy accomodation but the cottage is quite dark inside as would be expected of a cottage of this age. It would benefit from a declutter and an extra small sofa since the seating in the living room did not really provide for a comfortable evening of relaxation. We did enjoy our time in this beautiful part of Wales.
