What our customers say about their holidays
Ben - Verified booking
The best holiday cottage we have stayed in.
It was myself, my partner, our 20mth old son and our 2 dogs. We stayed for 2 weeks end of Feb/beginning of March. Prior to arriving, Richard (the owner) sent us step by step directions to get to the cottage. He also recommended a lady who does dog day care (Salty Sea Dogs Walking & Day Care, Perranporth) so we could visit the Eden Project. The cottage itself is fantastic; located a short distance from Perranporth (2 min drive) with ample parking for 2-3 cars. Richard and Sue have literally thought of everything; the kitchen is kitted out with a high standard of all necessary utensils, cookware and crockery which enabled us to cook most nights. There were instructions on how to use the TV & DVD player, WIFI, heating and heater in the bathroom. Also provided was towels for the dogs, blankets for the settees, a high chair, travel cot and sturdy baby gates (a god send for us!). In the garden is a shed which is basically a play room, which our son loved! There is also a huge selection of books and DVDs. The beds are very comfortable and plenty of towels are provided. We personally loved the decor of the cottage; all the little touches such as sea themed ornaments and pictures. We wouldn't think twice about staying again and would definitely recommend.

Waves End cottage is a delightful studio apartment on ground floor level.
It's situated about 15 metres from the sea with a lovely window seat looking out to the waves. It is well equipped for two people. The kitchen has most facilities, with a washing machine but no dishwasher. There are plenty of cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. There was generally enough hot water but on the final two days the automatic water heater did not provide the usual temperature. The heating was brilliant. Too warm on occasions, and we'd been advised not to fiddle with the timers which are controlled 'remotely'. The area is beautiful with lots of lovely local walks. The village was very friendly and we got a warm welcome in the Rising Sun. October can be a stormy month. We arrived in a huge storm with sea waves coming up to the house! Very exciting. Then 6 perfect autumn days. The owner was concerned enough to telephone and kept in touch during the week. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

The property is clean, the beds are comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen, however⦠Do not book unless someone is at least 5ft 6in and able bodied, the cupboards are so high you will struggle if you are short.
Thereâs a step in the shed apparently, but not sure how safe this fix is? The tv in the conservatory didnât work, thereâs no remote for the tv in the twin room, the kitchen sink drain smells terrible. The cupboard door in the conservatory comes off if you catch it (my dog caught his bottom on it so I had to try to fix the already broken hinge). The loo seat is loose, tried to fix this too but think it needs replacing. Then thereâs the front door. The moment there is any warm/sunny weather it sticks to the point it feels like itâs going to completely come off. Overall it just feels a little unloved, which is a shame as itâs ideally positioned for the gorgeous north Cornish coast. So whilst we enjoyed our stay we wouldnât return to this property.

This is a beautiful cottage in a peaceful and nature-filled setting. The sight of a deer casually walking past at less than 100 metres away each morning, and their noisy braying at night were a real treat. The pizza oven was a great experience too. Plenty to see locally and the 10 minute walk to ‘the best example of limestone pavements in Britain’ at Gait Barrow is a must, as is the wonderful RSPB nature reserve at Leighton Moss a very short drive away, where we saw Cormorants posing majestically as well as a Great White Egret, Marsh Harrier and an otter. Of course visitors will want to head into the Lakes, and in term time the journey to Ambleside was about 50 minutes. Very well appointed cottage and a very generous welcome pack on arrival.

Superb location right beside the sea with a perfect cosy window seat to read or just enjoy the view the splashing waves (when there's an easterly wind!
) and watch seals and sea birds. In the evenings we hunkered down with blankets and popped on the wood burner. You do need to bring your own logs/kindling. The property is very comfortable, well equipped and stylishly decorated reflecting it's coastal location. Ideal for swimming and there are plenty of walks and villages to explore right from your front door. There's even an beautiful little art box for you to create some watercolours to remember your stay. Mevagissy is only a short walk away, is still a working harbour; so lots going on, and has some lovely pubs and cafés/restaurants. The owners provided a well thought through welcome pack prior to our arrival including parking information etc which was very helpful.
