What our customers say about their holidays

+ve: The cottage is very quaint, well equipped and convenient location.
As you would expect with an old property, there were a few cobwebs - but otherwise very clean. We were delighted to find the welcome cake - thank you. -ve: Thereâs a patch of flaking wall in second bedroom; it may or may not be caused by damp, but if I had children sleeping in that room, it would have been of concern to me (I didnât, so it wasnât, and the room doesnât smell damp - so I just raise this from a âperceptionâ point of view). -The bulb in one of the bedside lights needs replacing; -We couldnât find any instructions for recycling (although there is a black bin for general rubbish - we were unsure what to do with glass, plastic, cardboard etc. it said in the instruction booklet - see separate sheet, but it seemed to be missing? - we also couldnât find a visitors book for comments - we always find these a very useful source of local information/recommendations!

Very compact and bijou.
Steep steps everywhere. Parking can be tricky and the car park down the road is for 2 hours max. The longstay one is the other end of the village, but you can pull in a little lane opposite the cottage to load and unload. Garden is a wonderful suntrap with lovely views. You are very well situated to access the village shops (open till 10pm One Stop). Bin had not been emptied when we arrived and would have been nice to have materials for at least first fire (logs etc available at One Stop and Spar). Shower temperature a bit unreliable due to low flow/output. Beds very comfortable indeed. Note there is no direct access to the garden from the cottage (ie have to take your dog on a lead a couple of metres up the road, then extremely steep steps to terraces with nice furniture.

Our 3rd visit to Anchorage⦠the location is super!
The views from the snug and the outside decking area are wonderful throughout the day and in any weather. The house is well fitted out with utilities, furniture and kept clean. Down at the beach you can spend hours investigating the rock pools and balancing stones on top of one another. Watchet itself has plenty going on, markets, an array of shops, pubs and takeaway restaurants! A great location to visit Minehead by bus or on the WSR⦠Porlock and the wonders of Exmoor⦠Devon is just on your doorstep and within 1hr 30 you can be at Croyde.

The one disappointing thing about the holiday was that the bed linen and in particular the towels were not changed at the end of the first week.
In the Property Summary it states that bed linen and towels are included in the rent. It does not specify that they will be changed nor does it state that they wont. Our experience of self-catering around the country is that where you are staying for 2 weeks the linen and towels are changed mid way and hence this was our expectation. We suggest that you should strongly advise your clients that this should be the case and ensure narrative to whether this is the case or not should be added to the Property Spec.
