  This lodge was beautiful!

  ! It has everything you need to have a very comfortable stay, it was very well equipped and finished to a high standard, brean country club site was very peaceful which made sitting/ sunbathing on the lovely sofa on the decking very relaxing. We really enjoyed RJ’s night time entertainment too. It was around a 10 minute walk to the beach which was a nice beach for walking, we used the splash park twice which the kids absolutely loved I also went on all the slides and very much enjoyed the experience. This is the first time I have had to pay to use the pool when visiting a holiday park as it’s normally included with the price of the holiday, it cost us £18 every time we wanted to swim which was a shame because my kids would have loved to have gone every day. The park was with in easy reach of western super mere which we enjoyed having a walk round. We also visited Bath which was 1 hour 40 mins away, Torquay which was absolutely stunning and spend the whole afternoon paddling and playing in the sea which was 1 hour 20 mins away and. Glastonbury which was 45 mins away, There were a lot of road works on the M5 which held us back from more exploring near Bristol, iI have mentioned this to help others to plan any day trips to allow more travel time, Due to this reason we decided to leave the night before to miss sitting for hours on the motorway the following day if we checked out at 10am, I was a bit gutted but having three children it made sense and we did miss all the traffic driving home through the night. we would like to thank sue the owner for a lovely stay.   We cannot fault our stay at 5 Yarmouth Cottages given the price charged for a 7 night stay.

  The property is a modern built property and is furnished accordingly. The owners allow pets, therefore dog friendly. Some reviews mentioned the furniture being worn, however, whilst not new, is is what to be expected of a dog-friendly property in our opinion. The cottages, numbers 1-6, are located on a private driveway, set well back from other properties which is nice. They have small but private patio areas, and good car parking outside each cottage. The location is quiet, but close enough to amenities a short drive away. There is a local farm shop within walking distance, the walk-in entrance being opposite the private driveway. There were just the two of us and our English Bulldog. If I were to find anything amiss, it would be our cottage was not equipped with a vacuum cleaner (just a sweeping brush) to clean-up the 'Dudley's dog hairs before we left, which is something we like to do out of respect for others property. Chatting to the occupiers of Cottage number 6 next door, on us leaving, they did indeed have a hoover but not us in number 5.

  A lovely location, and a very spacious property with a perfect secure garden for dogs.

  The beds were comfortable and we slept well. However, reading through the visitor comment book (which we used to leave comments before we left), it is clear that suggestions which would improve things for guests have not been addressed. The front bedroom would benefit from a blind or net as there is a busy junction directly outside as well as a lot of walkers meaning the curtains were closed throughout our stay. There was no welcome pack...which is the first time there has been no greeting having rented a lot of holiday let's over many years...perhaps a pint of milk might be nice? And perhaps a bottle of wash up liquid? Perhaps a spare bin liner? The enormous spa bath doesn't work....what a waste!...and the bathroom is looking rather tired and unloved. If the owner addressed some of the small niggles as suggested by myself and other guests, I might feel that I hadn't overpaid for my 5 night stay. On arrival, a phrase my Grandmother used to use came to mind and wouldn't shift...'Fur coat, and no knickers'...

  This property is in a lovely setting with super views.

  It is very well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. Lovely walks to Lyme Regis. Great not to have to use the car. There are a couple of points to consider with this property though. The property suited us as 2 adults, a teenager and a dog. However I can’t really see it working with 6 people as it’s advertised for due to the size of the kitchen/dinning room and seating in the lounge. The garden is secure which is great if you have a dog, However, it should be noted the gates on the driveway need to be shut to achieve this. We don’t have a large car so we were able to manoeuvre our car to be able to shut them. Not sure how easy this would be with a large car and certainly not with 2 cars. Unfortunately we didn’t find the sofas or mattresses particularly comfortable which meant no great night sleep for anyone. Overall the great weather and setting of the property meant we enjoyed our week away but I would be unlikely to return to this property.

  Very disappointed with responses from Sykes following 2 separate calls.

  All week we were plagued by an intermittent beeping from a neighbouring apartment. Although I appreciate the resolution may have been out of your control neither time did anyone call back to report what the management company were doing. And we had no courtesy calls. This noise was disrupting, especially at night when no other sounds blocked it out. In fact it would appear the MC did nothing. A guy testing the fire alarm on Friday ended up calling Carbis Bay Holidays who manage the property. They came out Friday lunchtime but only closed the kitchen window that had been open wide since we’d arrived. The beeping continued and was still going when we left Saturday morning. The drains need a clean as are most unpleasant when the washing machine is on. Otherwise apartment was very clean, comfy and welcoming. Everything
