  This is a lovely cottage, set just a short walk away from the harbour area. The balcony affords fantastic views down & up the valley. A bonus of its position is the peace & quiet, enabling a very peaceful night's sleep in the comfortable double bed. It is well stocked with all of the every day esse.... A bonus of its position is the peace & quiet, enabling a very peaceful night's sleep in the comfortable double bed. It is well stocked with all of the every day essentials you would need. We were also provided with tea, coffee, milk and cake, left for our first 'cuppa'. A nice touch especially as trouble was taken to provide Gluten free products. These were not requested but the requirement must have been picked up during a telephone conversation. An extremely thoughtful touch, that says it all. I would suggest holiday makers take a few more emergency food items than they ordinarily do. We would normally have “eaten out” on most days, but were unlucky to be hit by some extremely rainy evenings. This made it preferable to eat in and our meagre supplies soon ran out. We were unable to find any local convenience shops to replenish our stock….. be aware !!!

  We spent a wonderful week at Lorna Doone Cottage for our honeymoon in July 2021. We received the warmest welcome possible and were made to feel so special! The cottage was absolutely beautiful. It had obviously been recently renovated and very comfortable while retaining all of its charm and charact.... We spent a wonderful week at Lorna Doone Cottage for our honeymoon in July 2021. We received the warmest welcome possible and were made to feel so special! The cottage was absolutely beautiful. It had obviously been recently renovated and very comfortable while retaining all of its charm and character. It was very well furnished and equipped - comfortable beds, excellent showers and a kitchen which had everything we needed. There were incredible views from every window, and particularly the balcony, where we spent several evenings watching the sun set over the harbour. Beverley was so kind and helpful, offering us advice on things to do and see in Lynmouth and the surrounding area. There were plenty of guides and maps in the house to help us plan our days. We would love to visit again in future and will treasure the memories we have of our stay!

  Perfect location a little way up the gorge so great views but also very quiet. Beautifully renovated cottage with plenty of space, all the mod cons while retaining a lot of character features (heated bathroom floors a particular bonus!) No problems with parking, just a few minutes down the hill and.... Perfect location a little way up the gorge so great views but also very quiet. Beautifully renovated cottage with plenty of space, all the mod cons while retaining a lot of character features (heated bathroom floors a particular bonus!) No problems with parking, just a few minutes down the hill and a parking permit allowed access to a few different car parks which was helpful. Great places to eat including The Blue Ball at Countisbury and The Ancient Mariner in Lynmouth. Close to the many attractions in North Devon and plenty of walks on Exmoor with incredible views.

  Fantastic property ,,well equipped ,very clean, beautiful views ,location perfect in lynmouth close to restaurants and pubs and lots of walks . Once we arrived we parked out car in carpark with ticket provided and we didn't move it for weekend so many walks from lynmouth perfect base ,would stay aga.... Fantastic property ,,well equipped ,very clean, beautiful views ,location perfect in lynmouth close to restaurants and pubs and lots of walks . Once we arrived we parked out car in carpark with ticket provided and we didn't move it for weekend so many walks from lynmouth perfect base ,would stay again and highly recommend, only thing I would suggest is make sure you bring any supplies as no convenience shop in lynmouth there is one in lynton which is very near tho .

  We had a fabulous weekend at Lorna Doone Cottage. The owners (Beverley and Marcus) and housekeeper (Jane) couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well-equipped in a perfect location high above the East Lyn river with views over to the sea. We walke.... We had a fabulous weekend at Lorna Doone Cottage. The owners (Beverley and Marcus) and housekeeper (Jane) couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well-equipped in a perfect location high above the East Lyn river with views over to the sea. We walked direct from the cottage and spent some happy hours in Lynmouth. We will definitely be back - how perfect!
