What our customers say about their holidays

We had the most wonderful stay at Beach Haven.
Super comfortable & really attentive host. Great communication. The heating had a bit of a wobble and stopped working downstairs, but an engineer was called and it was worked on. The pub down the road served incredible food, highly recommend the traditional local, The Bolingey Inn. It was so lovely to have a sea view, in any weather was such a lovely sight. Facilities and kitchen equipment were brilliant, Iâve never been anywhere with such an amazing amount of plates, glasses, mugs & cutlery, this was such a refreshing change. Great to have a drinks cooler too. One thing I did miss when I did the washing though was a tumble dryer to fluff the towels up when we did our few washes during the week. Especially as there were a lot of us doing washing, this would be a great addition. There wasnât enough space on the airer for us all or radiator places to hang things either. The vacuum could do with a freshen/clean up, as that smelt quiet doggy when we used it to clean up during the week. We needed to hoover most days as we were a big party. We would

We go on a walking holiday every year, and this was by far the nicest accommodation we have stayed in. As walkers, the steep climb to the house was doable, but more infirm guests might want to consider this. I surveyed Shutta road, and there was no way my car (a Skoda Enyaq) was going to fit. I would suggest the largest you could get there is a Ford Focus sized vehicle. However, there was an allocated parking space a few minutes walk away, as well as fast chargers for EVs. The decor and equipment in the house was excellent. A lovely kitchen, with an island, and ample crockery, pots and pans and enough dishwasher and washing machine tabs for our 4 night stay. The beds were comfy and the rooms quiet, and the bathrooms were new and clean. The TVs in the house came with good streaming services, and there was a nice stereo and PS2 (which we didn't use, but was a nice touch). Definitely recommended for active people, with great access to coastal walks and the station.

Ivydene is lovely, Equipment, views, perfect. Only one complaint is the access to the property, (Car port) Just think it should be made 100% clear that the access road Shutta road is one way and is 6'3 in places. Most Medium cars will find it very tight to get to property. If not impossible! leaving all luggage and shopping to be carried up a very steep incline and/or steep steps from the Harbour car park. As this is a 4 bed house, In my opinion families with young children and maybe grandparents would struggle unless very fit. Travel instructions need an update Barclays bank is now a clothing shop. I would recommend arriving in daylight. Alternative parking space at Mill pool car park is fine. Although car port was too small for our car it would have been nice to drop luggage off at house and park at Mill Pool. This was not possible. Once there house as I say is lovely.

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Beach Haven.
A lovely house, very clean and comfortable with good facilities. Spacious upstairs kitchen, dining room and living area. Two balconies, the one overlooking the garden a sun trap whilst we were there. Well placed in Perranporth with a sea view from sitting room. Description very accurate and tea, coffee and biscuits left for our arrival were very welcome. The owner contacted me before our holiday, providing more information, and a contact number for problems, which was a lovely touch. Perranporth is a good spot, excellent beach and convenient to visit many other areas and tourist attractions in Cornwall. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good, though upstairs one (and the shower) a bit small. All in all would definitely recommend. We were sorry the stay wasnât longer!

We had a fantastic time here!
The house is lovely, spacious and comfortable with the most beautiful view possible. There is a coastal path at the side of the house to the beach and I in particular, enjoyed the walks along the hilltops and and the peacefulness of Porthkidney beach. Being a coastal path, this route is quite steep and narrow but there are other beaches close by in Carbis and in St Ives which are more accessible and lovely too, Great links by rail from Carbis Bay train station into St Ives running around every half an hour with a picturesque view of the bay. The station is a short walk 15 minute away from the house, tickets are inexpensive and the train journey takes just 3 minutes. I would have loved to have had more time to explore the whole bay and would love to go back!
