What our customers say about their holidays
Grace - Verified booking
We overall had a lovely stay here.
The property was as expected from the photos and with a nice view of the sea! The beds and sofa were really comfy and the welcome treats were a lovely touch. The property itself was nice, comfortable and overall clean although we did have a few issues which we expressed to Carbis Bay Holidays who were quick to respond. Our toddler had dirty feet after crawling on the floor for a short time when we first arrived which wasnât great so we ended up buying a mop and cleaning it ourselves. The highchair hadnât been cleaned properly either which made us reluctant to use the travel cot due to cleanliness concerns. It is great that these items are available to use but please make sure that they are cleaned thoroughly and are presentable for the next guests as itâs not a great first impression. It was also inconvenient that the dishwasher was out of use for our stay but these things happen and we appreciated the good will gesture from the owner. Also bear in mind if travelling with mobile babies and toddlers that there are a few steps in the property.

Initially when we arrived we were taken back by how lovely the environment and the area of the cottage was in.
However it then came to light that you were not allowed to leave your pets in the cottage unattended, which was not on the listing (had it of been we would have booked elsewhere) We found the whole experience intrusive with the lack of privacy and the handyman/ owners mate (so he says) interpreting our stay most days. The property gives a feel that it is being run like a hotel and that is not what we were looking for. On the 3rd Night another party arrived to stay in the adjacent cottage and that was the straw that broke the camels back, they where in the rear of their cottage in the early hours shouting laughing and very drunk, waking us up at 0300am and not going quite until gone 0530am. This made us realise how close the other propertyâs were to us and again this was not mentioned in the listing. We left earlier because we could not stay there anymore because of the fore mentioned issues. All I can say if you want a nice place to stay thatâs a slightly nicer environment than Butlinâs then book here your love it. I will not be going back.

Lyn and Rebecca went above and beyond for us during our stay at Bickle Bice.
We had a less than perfect start to our holiday, thanks to car trouble, but their kindness and help more than compensated for it. We still cannot believe how lucky we were to have met them as part of our holiday. John was a lovely friend to our 6 yr old, who doesnât normally warm to strangers, and made his stay full of wonder and excitement. Now onto the actual cottage review! The cottage is set on an idyllic farm, complete with the best views you could wish for. The facilities are outstanding and thoughtfully provided, and made for a real home away from home, albeit with better scenery! A delicious cream tea awaited us in the fridge, and a little goody bag for our dogs was most welcome. The beds were comfortable and cosy, the kitchen was well equipped and a good size for a family of five, and the living room had amazing views. We loved every moment of our stay, and will definitely be returning as soon as we can. Thank you again to the wonderful family who made our stay so special.

We were really impressed with the apartment.
The apartment was clean and well stocked with all the things you'd need for a comfortable holiday. The little extras were really appreciated, for example the boules, kite and body boards in the cupboards. The apartment was easy to get to, park at, and a very reasonable distance from the beach and local facilities. The only minor things we noticed were that when we arrived certain plates and cutlery had bits of food remaining on them, so I assume it was the last occupant had not cleaned them very well, but worth adding to your check list. The second is that there is only a very small (Parmesan?) cheese grater, a full size one would be most useful. Also, we brought our own plug extensions which was fortunate, as there were not enough free sockets in the apartment for extra electronics like our laptops. Saying that though, this is one of the best places we've stayed in, and would certainly return!

Beautiful apartment.
Lovely comfy beds & bedding. Delightful bathroom with good shower, comfy settees & good sea view. Own parking space which was a bonus plus rotary close line in the garden. All needs catered for. We had a problem with the dinning chairs which was dealt with promptly. The lack of a bread bin was a problem as we had to use one of the drawers & no cupboard space for food. The kitchen bin under the sink was also very awkward to use. A waste bin in each bedroom would have been a bonus. The floor didn't seem clean & we had to clean the bedroom drawers as we found hairs in one. Otherwise it was a lovely apartment which we would be more than happy to return to & recommend to our friends.
