What our customers say about their holidays
Keith - Verified booking
We waited some three weeks to write this as we left very upset and did not want our emotions and feelings to prejudice our review.
Our car bogged down in the deep gravel, we moved it the following day. Six wall hooks is not enough storage for five nights stay. No inside foot mat, changed muddy shoes outside in the rain. Fold out dinning table not fit for purpose as it hits the wooden loft ladder. Ate all meals on our lap putting all beverages on the floor as no table. Watched five days of iPLAYER, no terrestrial channels due to location, we do not have Netflix or Sky accounts, No microwave listed in description but really missed when not there. No side lights or lampshade, kept loft light on as downstairs ceiling lights far too bright due to low ceiling and white walls. After two nights in the loft we slept on the sofa-bed, we felt it too risky reversing out of bed with 3' headroom in the dark to negotiate a 9' ladder to go to the loo whilst half asleep. If your partner goes to the loo at night chances are you will be awoken. 'Sofa-bed' is lumpy, bumpy with stains and extremely uncomfortable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On our last day we awoke to find the hob, oven and radiator had lost their programme, we informed Louisa and her husband came to assist. He was wonderful, boiling our milk and reassuring us he would fix whilst we were out walking. He explained power cuts were frequent and this was most probably the cause. Whilst walking we received a random PDF file from Louisa for a LAM3410 oven and hob stating, 'hope this helps'. We explained her husband was resolving the issue and without any fact finding or investigation we received upsetting and confrontational texts stating we had locked it, we had used it all week and previous guests had managed to use them properly for two years. We explained Louisa's husband stated it was a power cut but this was ignored. We stated we had been hill walking for six hours and would have no cooking facilities on our return. We had to trawl though eighteen pages of text to find out how to unlock the hob before we could start cooking. We also received a text saying 'I hope the oven is working as you haven't said otherwise'. Due to the power cut the oven showed 'STOP', at 9pm we were downloading a Lamon3410 oven PDF, we fixed this at 10pm. We texted Louisa saying it would be nice to meet before we left to resolve any issues between us but we never met our host or received the courtesy of a reply. Our check out time was 10am but we left at 08.40 as we just wanted to leave. On returning home we finally contacted the Lamona service helpline who confirmed a 'LOCK' and a 'STOP' on both appliances at the same time would be the result of a power cut and referred us to the youtube channel below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_jTeLXvG0o&t=3s The property affords a wonderful location and view, unfortunately the novelty of this soon wears off when one has to stay for five nights.

Well what can we say. Another lockdown and we thankfully managed to escape to the Bramble lodge on the first day of lockdown easing, so our hopes were high. To say we were blown away was an understatement. The lodge itself was breath taking. Beautifully designed, open, full of light and spacious. The eco touches were such a wonderful touch and being new to eco heating solutions we were impressed by the consistent and comfortable temperature at all times. Great spec and appliances thought and imaginative and effective use of zone lighting. We used the lodge as our base for coastal path walking and managed nearly 50 miles over our 4 night stay. This was only made possible by the incredible wood fired hot tub which rejeuvinated us each evening in preparation for the next trek. A lovely touch that our hosts took the trouble to light the hot tub ready for our arrival and the unexpected delivery of a class bottle of local chardonnay and chocolates was the icing on the cake. To top it all off was the view which was breathtaking! An uninterrupted view of the Dorset countryside in every direction which we enjoyed every evening until the sun set, seeing deer, foxes and many, many pheasants. To top it all off the cost of this trip was reasonable to say the least. We would expect to pay double the price in Cornwall and would not expect the same standard of care and attention that we received. A wonderful location, property, host and experience. We will be back and will be recommending. Lockdown has been so very hard and we wish this enterprise every success now they are back up and running. A huge thank you from us for a most wonderful and memorable stay.

As in previous reviews the location and views from the property are very good, also the property itself is nice, however my concerns are the lack of Facilities and the price for the property.
For just a few £££'s more I could have had a detached 2/3 Bedroomed House/Cottage, whereas this property is Very Small, not sure how you would fit in a Cot as well? Facility wise it is a bit sparse. If you plan to Fry some food forget it as there is no extraction available, so I'd avoid that, also there is no Micro-Wave, which is strange these days. If you plan to stay for a week then be aware that there are no storage facilities for clothes or even for food, although you will probably be eating out? The Hot water for pot washing only last a couple of minutes before it goes cold. To watch TV you have to keep removing the ladder out of the way. The bedroom doesn't fit my description of a bedroom, it is basically a mattress on a loft floor, no cupboards or drawers or mirrors also very little headroom, about 2', so it's a "crawl" to get in and out of bed. The upper "bedroom" is not suitable for anyone that might have disabilities etc. due to having to climb a ladder to access the mattress. The lighting is very bright, so a Table Lamp would be helpful for nighttime. We never got to me the hosts, so I can't comment on that. I know this is a negative review, and I'm sorry to leave one, but people should be made aware of the limitations that they will encounter. For me this was booked on the "Spur of the Moment", so I guess I'm partially to blame for not reading the comments etc. If you are just doing a 1/2-night stay, then this would be ideal, but anything over, in my opinion, would need a bit of consideration.

Such a great property!
We came here for our mini-moon after we got married end of March, start of April. On arrival we found some tasty basics and delicious brownies from their farm shop. It was clean and tidy on arrival with clear instructions on how to use the hot tub and the house rules. Loved the section in the folder about activities and recommendations! And the bed was so comfortable with fluffy pillows. We found lots of local actives to do including dinner at Buckland Manor, cinema with dinner at The Regal Evesham to watch Dune Part 2, and The Lygon Arms Hotel and Spa for a Spa Day. But really enjoyed spending our time at Parlour Barn as well, with the hot tub, DVD options, and lighting the fire with some of the firewood provided. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain during our stay so wasn't able to try out the walks that were shown in the folder provided. The only thing that didn't make this perfect was the sofa because it has clearly aged and is peeling so blankets were provided to cover it but kept slipping when we put the recliner out. So all in all, highly recommend!! Such a fantastic place can't wait to visit again, want to also thank our hosts for being so kind and helpful during our stay and also allowing me to return to collect my left belongings after!

Absolutely excellent!
! My husband and I have just spent a week here and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The barn is spacious, well maintained and extremely clean. Our hosts provided a welcome pack of freshly made sourdough bread, chocolate brownies, apple juice and home made apple chutney (particularly awesome!!) which was greatly appreciated after our long drive. The shower is a good size, powerful with plenty of hot water and very clean. The bed was a good size and we found it comfy and not too firm. The kitchen again was very clean and provided all we needed as we made our own evening meals most days. We used the hot tub every day after a day exploring the local area and it was great. The recline facility on the sofa provided the ideal way to end the day. The central location made it easy to visit Worcester, Warwick, Chelteham and Glouscester.
