  Wow what a stunning place to stay, the small village at the bottom of the valley surrounded by woodlands is the perfect place to spend a weekend, we wish we could have stayed much longer.

  The cottage is so warm and cosy and very well looked after and extremely clean. The kitchen has everything you will need and was the room the family spent the most time in playing games and relaxing as it is a very big space, the sofa in the kitchen is a nice little touch. The lounger has 2 big comfortable sofas and a large flat screen TV which was perfect to keep the kids happy. Each bedroom is on suit and the showers have plenty of power. The bedrooms are all a great size with plenty of storage for clothes and the beds extremely comfortable. The WIFI was signal is very good and had no issues dealing with 5 devices connecting, again very happy kids. Overall, this is a stunning place to stay and cannot recommend highly enough. Only 20 mins away from the stunning Elan Valley and 20 mins away from nearest supermarket. All instructions from the host were very clear to understand and easy to follow. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and they also run the pub next door. There was no noise issues from the pub at all and if we had more time we would most certainly have popped in for a drink after exploring the many woodland trails on the door step. We loved our long weekend here and cannot recommend it highly enough, one of the best cottage stays we as a family have experienced as a family of 7.

  We have stayed at tailors cottage for the past week and we have just returned home.

  It was absolutely amazing. The cottage was beautiful and very well presented. The views from our bedroom window was facing the church across the way and to see that everyone in the village all help each other is great to see. We also went into the owners pub ( the happy union inn ) we were made to feel so welcoming all the locals talked to us and gave us information on what’s around the area, We visited Elan valley which was the beat part of our holiday. Our AkitaX Malamute Keiko also made a new a friend Ben with the owners dog. Ben is amazing so friendly and has a lovely funny character. We are already looking at some dates for next year to be returning. This is definitely our new holiday please in England. A big thank you to John and Karen for making us feel very welcome n their village and for allowing us to rent their cottage for the week. We have really enjoyed it. And like I say, We will be returning as soon as we can. For anyone who is looking for a get away with beautiful surroundings, This place is the please you need to book and show John and Karen your support. You don’t be disappointed.   We had a great time at The Hollies.

  It was well equipped and the kids loved table tennis. The benches at the dining table were a little precarious for the kids (aged 9, 10 and 12) when they tried to pull them closer to the table. One in particular would rock forwards if not careful. A couple of normal chairs would be helpful for ease of use for those of us who are quite arthritic. The round handles on the doors were really tricky to grip and turn for my arthritis - not a complaint, just if we stay there again, I will take some sort of arthritis aid for opening such doors. I would love to see some extra drawer storage in the main bedroom as there were only 3 small drawers and then just hanging space in the wardrobes. Also, the beds are quite high, which is fine, except for the shorties amongst us, it’s a bit of an issue to sit and get socks on, so a chair in each bedroom would be really helpful. The location was great and peaceful. Lovely beaches nearby. Really enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

  We have stayed in many cottages over the years and sadly Beechview did not meet our expectations.

  The views and peace and quiet are lovely, however the access and location more remote than we expected. The house itself was adequate with its facilities but definitely lacked that home from home touches and feel. There was no dvd player and limited access to the smart TV features. Although in the listing it stated fuel and power included, there was no logs or kindling for the fire. The shower was somewhat awkward and tight to get in and out of. We did receive a welcome email from the owners -sadly it wasn't up to date with knowledge the local pub was not serving food till the 26th Sept - this would have been very handy to know after a long 6 hour drive up as we were looking forward to eating out the first night, not getting back into the car to find somewhere else. We loved the sunrises out the back and the rear bedroom bed was very comfy to sleep in. We personally wouldnt stay here again

  Very pleasant stay at Beechview - pre-arrival email from Sykes was kindly supplemented by a personalised email from the owner, which was much appreciated.

  Fixtures and fittings as expected from photos, spacious and comfortable for a family of four, with more than adequate cooking facilities. Two things which may enhance the property for future guests: 1) the lack of a full size clothes drying rack was awkward, having had to do a full load of washing after getting soaked - although there were three radiator racks, we had to also use coat hangers and items took days to dry 2) it was unclear where the property’s external general waste and recycling bins were located - not wanting to use a neighbour’s bin, we were unable to empty the recycling bin on check out Overall, would highly recommend the property - 15 mins from Alton Towers and 45 mins from Heights of Abraham - and would happily come back here on a future Peak District holiday.
