  We booked the same cottage that we rented last year.

  It’s very compact but it does the job for the week and the location is convenient and quiet. Last year after our stay we were asked to write a review - and generally I gave a good overall rating. I did however give the owner a private snagging list of things we thought would be helpful for them to know and which would hopefully make other guests have a better experience. Little things like the knobs on the inside of the bathroom door were pulling off and the toilet roll holder on the wall was very loose and near to falling off. There was no veg peeler in the kitchen drawer and no small oven trays to cook food on in the oven so we had to use the huge grill pan instead. The fridge is a larder fridge with no freezer compartment. The toaster was also faulty with the heating elements only working on 3 sides. Returning to the same property this year we found the issues in the bathroom have been addressed however, we were disappointed to find that the kitchenette is exactly as it was. Fortunately we brought with us our own utensils and disposable metal trays. There were no oven gloves available and the washing up liquid was watered down. After our visit last year the owners of the property probably thought they’d never see us again and probably thought the missing/faulty items in the kitchenette were too minor to bother with. I’m of a different opinion and feel strongly enough to put my views into my public review. Additionally the property is quite dusty this visit and overall looks less well cared for. The yard outside is a jungle of weeds and very uninviting and one of the neighbours was very unwelcoming and told us we shouldn’t be parking on the cobbles. Our decision is that we won’t be returning to this particular property again.

  We have had an amazing holiday at The Arches it really will be top of our list of Happy places to visit again very soon.

  The Arches is so spacious but cosy at the same time. We are a family of 6 adults and a 21 month old toddler also we have 3 border terriers but we all had our own space to chill and unwind. The decor and soft furnishings are amazing and of the highest quality. The kitchen is so well equipped with the bonus of a washing machine, dish washer and large fridge with a large freezer. All of our beds were so comfy and it was lovely to be awakened by the cockerels morning singing. The farmers and their family included us as they went about their daily work, we and loved seeing all the farm animals especially the puppies and the piglets not forgetting the sheep chickens cockerels sheepdogs and cats. The Arches is absolutely spectacular and we can’t fault it at all we have all arrived home with lots of ideas for home decor although ours won’t look a patch on The Arches as the beams and other original features are amazing. The perfect find for us. An excellent base to visit the Yorkshire National Park, Richmond, Harrogate,Barnard Castle , Layburn, Hawes and The Lakes. Thank you to the owners Angela and Graham for having us stay and being so approachable and contactable it was much appreciated. So if your thinking of booking don’t hesitate as you won’t be disappointed please leave space for us to return though. The Best Family xx

  We loved our stay so much we could easily have moved in so will definitely be booking to stay again.

  We stayed for a week and felt very comfortable, everything was spotless and had all the facilities we needed including lots of extras in the kitchen cupboards such as baking trays, cheese grater and spare tea towel. It had an easy to use washing machine which was great for us being able to pack clean clothes to take back instead of having to do it once home. Our beds were excellent and we enjoyed being able to watch TV in bed early morning with our toddler like we do at home. The owners were available if needed and were very welcoming with 2 very friendly dogs who came to say hello to my little girl which she loved. Its located on their working farm but they didn't wake us or disturb us in any way it was generally very peaceful and lovely to hear the birds singing. The cottage is located a short car journey from Market Weighton which had several take aways and a little supermarket which we used and the local pub in Goodmanham was lovely for a couple of drinks and peaceful in their garden to.the side which had a little children's area. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend, thanks for making our stay so comfortable and also our little welcome pack which was very thoughtful

  We had the most wonderful stay at Waterfall Cottage! The location is stunning — set right by the river and just a short stroll from all the lovely shops and cafes in Ingleton. The cottage itself was spotless and beautifully presented. The bedrooms were cosy and the beds incredibly comfortable — we slept so well. The modern bathroom had a powerful shower, which was a real treat after a day out exploring. We also appreciated how well-equipped the kitchen was — it had everything we needed and more, making it easy (and actually enjoyable!) to cook our meals. The living room was a perfect space to relax with a glass of wine in the evening. There was something really special about the place — it had that cosy, cared-for feel that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Thank you so much for a truly memorable stay — we’ll 100% be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Waterfall Cottage to friends and family!

  Larklands is a beautiful place to stay.

  High up on the hills of Yorkshire the views are wonderful and it is set in a small and peaceful village with great pub and fantastic farm shop close by. The barn itself was spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. It's high ceilings make it feel really special and the living room kitchen and dining area create a really sociable area - great to come home to after a long day out. The working farm next door gave us the opportunity to see hens scratching around and a new litter of kittens too! The owners were incredibly welcoming and were there for us if we needed them but in fact everything was so good we didn't need to message except to say what a great time we having!! This was our second time visiting Larklands and with the fresh new decor it was even nicer than the first time. I would definitely recommend staying there.
