  Our party of 6 (and a puppy) had a wonderful 3 night stay at Sunset Lodge over the Easter Weekend.

  The location of the lodge is perfect, being next to a beautiful lake and nice grassy area for the children to play (football in our case!) We were extremely lucky with the weather so the hot tub was popular. We used the barbecue and caught a few fish too (returned to the water, didn't barbecue!). The lodge itself is very clean, well stocked with DVD's, a couple of board games, bedding and towels and the welcome basket with wine, chocolate eggs, crisps and dog treats immediately made us feel at home and put us in a great mood after our drive from Essex. The response to our request/query was almost immediate and very informative. We didn't manage to get the WiFi going (used our own phone data fine) but in our case, it did us a massive favour making the children want to be more active! You need to purchase the entertainment pass (£35 total for all guests in our lodge) as you are asked to show them for pretty much everything if you want to venture over to the clubhouse/restaurants/shops/arcade/etc. We had a couple of lovely meals there and our children enjoyed the football court and arcade especially. There is only one guarded entry/exit point (unless you want to climb over pretty high gates), so we felt very comfortable leaving our eldest to have a bit of freedom within the boundary (if that's freedom!). Our favourite place was the lodge though. We would definitely love to return one day. Lincolnshire is a beautiful place going by the drives we went on. We highly recommend a trip to Wild Pines (35/40 mins North) if you have any budding climbers in the family/party. It's a high ropes experience which we (ages 7 to 40) loved. It's very well explained and organised and the staff are first class. Again the weather helped. All in all, we had such a great time and I'm sure you will too. Michael and family.   Really beautiful hut with beautiful views and a lovely private field.

  The field was secure and perfect for my dog to run around freely. The hut was cosy and well decorated with plenty of blankets for the cooler evenings. We had a lovely welcome pack with some bread and milk so thank you for that. For feedback purposes there was a couple of minor things. Some of the cutlery was dirty and had to be re washed. The bed is nearing its end, you can feel the springs and plastic from the mattress detailing was coming through the sheets and poking us. We had to pull them out as was very uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet and using blankets instead. It could also do with some hooks to hang certain clothes items as there is nowhere at all to hang clothes or wet towels. And it is slightly over cluttered on the shelf by the bed. Nowhere to put my belongings. I would definitely come back to this hut and would recommend it to friends.

  On first impressions the lodge appeared very nice.

  You need to point out to future guests that the fishing peg is at the other side of the lake and NOT in front of the cabin which is what it implies on the description of the cabin. My husband is recovering from major trauma injuries and had to ask a neighbouring lodge if he could use their peg which luckily he could as otherwise he would have been unable to fish. The oven was left with the previous occupiers remnants of a meal which I had to clean before I could use it. The bedding needs replacing ie. quilts as they are very cheap and just slide about in the cover resulting in a balled quilt when trying to sleep. The outside of the cabin was nice although the garden table could have done with a good scrub as it was filthy as were the windows. If the points above could be addressed I would consider staying here again..

  What a find !

  Heron Lodge is absolutely fabulous. Extremely clean, spacious,comfortable, well appointed and with great attention to detail. All needs catered for. Nothing has be overlooked. Very quiet location, stunning views, beautiful grounds to explore with lots of wildlife to watch. Heron Lodge is ideal for couples and families with children over 12 years old (the property has 3 lakes) Our hosts were adorable, with lots of knowledge and suggestions of what to do in the area, nothing was too much trouble. Local village 2.5 miles away has good local shops, a supermarket and a variety of takeaways. We can recommend the 'chippy' ! 40 minutes to the seaside, 30 minutes or so to Lincoln and lots more to do on your doorstep. We enjoyed our stay sooooo much, infact, we have already rebooked for next year. Thank you Denise and Andy.

  Soo sad to have had to leave Heron Lodge after 7 nights.

  This was our 2nd visit and we were not disappointed. Denise and Andy have thought of absolutely everything to ensure our stay was comfortable. The attention to detail is 'second to none' The Lodge was immaculate, comfortable, well appointed and nothing was left to chance. The view from the Lodge is fab as is the walk around the lakes and gardens which Denise and Andy work hard at keeping beautiful. The added bonus to our holiday was the 80th anniversary of the Dambusters,with events on the whole weekend at East Kirby Aviation Heritage Centre. Absolutely fabulous ! Discovered Woodhall Spa. Well worth a visit. Looking forward to re-booking for next year. Thank you both.
