What our customers say about their holidays
Simon - Verified booking
A very spacious and well kept house with a lovely homely feel.
The finish and furniture are all excellent. Everything you could need for a holiday is contained within the property and it has the advantage off off road parking. The fact that it caters for dogs was also welcome and the hard floors make keeping the house clean, very easy. The house does sit quite a way from the main part of Llandudno so be prepared to walk for 20 minutes or so to reach it, or a few minutes drive in the car. The promenade is about five minutes by foot and is a lovely walk. There are a large selection of shops, restaurants, takeaways and a large shopping centre in Llandudno. Shame there aren't pubs in easy walking distance of the house but that's not the fault of the property. The Queen Victoria in Llandudno and the Penrhyn Arms in Penrhyn both cater for dogs and have nice outdoor areas for people and pets. Penderyn Distillery is in Llandudno and is excellent value for £11.50 each which includes a guided tour and two generous drams. Adam gave us a nice welcome on arrival and we thank him and his family for allowing us to stay in this house. We wish you every success in the future.

We walked into the property and felt immediately at home.
The kitchen was stunning - spacious, large fridge and separate freezer and everything you needed in a kitchen was provided. The beautiful table and sofas next to the fireplace in the dining area made it our favourite hang-out room for the weekend. Upstairs was also amazing, all the bedrooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom and en-suite were amazing. It also had a beautiful living room, a utility room with a washing machine and a downstairs wet room. We have stayed in a few cottages but this property blew the competition out of the water! The owners have thought of everything and even left us a home made lemon drizzle cake (which I can honestly say was the nicest Iâve ever tasted!)!. Pub across the road served a lovely Sunday lunch and there was also a village shop for anything you need there. If you are after a relaxing weekend with plenty places to visit a short distance away, this is the perfect place. We would definitely (and have already) recommend it to friends.

A very beautiful cottage, and an excellent location.
Fully deserved 5 stars. A lot of thought has gone in to design and details to ensure period features with modernisation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again soon. The dishwasher was broken so the owners left a note with a bottle of wine - a gesture well appreciated. A special feed back from in-laws who arrived from India and stayed with us at the cottage - very well thought out and maintained. Very neat, clean and tidy. The listing was 100% accurate. Even they would like to come back again ! The only little nuisance(I know this is nitpicking) is the position of toilet roll holders - they are behind you next to the cistern tank that can make it difficult to reach. My mother-in-law struggled as sheâs got a shoulder problem and cannot move her arm freely.

Absolutely stunning property in a beautiful little village.
The house was exceptional. The 4 bedrooms one with ensuite, all had comfortable beds and gorgeous bed linen. The dining kitchen-family room was our favourite place with a lovely log burner to warm us up. The whole house was beautiful and cleaned to a very high standard, although we didn't cook in except for breakfast there was plenty of pots and pans if you wanted too. The village pub "the old stagg" served gorgeous food and also provided a take away service, so we opted to eat there, in addition a 6 minute drive out of the village was the "Black lion" the food here is outstanding. Overall we had the best winter holiday in Llys Alaw and would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting a perfect holiday. We book lots of cottages via sykes and this one was simply the best yet.

A fabulous property - my wife and I can't wait to return !
We can highly recommend it. Spotlessly clean and cosily warm in the cold and partly snowy week we stayed. We didn't feel the need to use the log burner in the kitchen / dining room. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfy and the en suite with a walk in shower was particularly useful. The coast and mountains are easily accesible being about 30 minutes away in either direction. The Old Stag pub opposite is very friendly and serves decent pub food. In Llanrwst, 15 minutes away, we found Jones the butchers and Scilicorns the bakers to be very good. A mention too for Sykes Cottages who arranged with the owners an extra 2 days stay for us as my wife had spotted a small gap in their bookings schedule and we were able to stay a little longer.
