What our customers say about their holidays

A beautifully presented and decorated cottage which abounded with spider's webs (something we are familiar with, living in the country).
The standard of cleanliness was adequate apart from a large spider's web in the bath and one of the toilets that hadn't been flushed properly. The cottage was very comfortable but, on a personal note, was immediately adjacent to a busy main road. Fortunately the weather was very cool as we felt the traffic noise was too loud to open the windows. We declined to use the hot tub or sit outside for the self same reasons. There is parking for two cars but when guests are staying in the adjacent cottage, which has parking for one car, and have parked badly it proved impossible to get to park our second car. The private car park for the properties is approached through a car park of a restaurant/gift shop and again this proved difficult at times to gain access to the car park for the cottage. I must stress that the adverse comments are personal to us since we live in a country lane and the only noises we hear at night are the barking of deer and being occasionally 'buzzed' by low flying Chinook helicopters. There is plenty to do in the area and much to explore.

We were very happy with the accommodation.
It was just about ok for us and our five children, especially with the brilliant outdoor space and the play area. The children had a wonderful time playing outside with the lovely views, as well as seeing the animals on the farm. The farmer was very friendly and allowed the children to come close as the lambs were being fed, which was lovely. Would highly recommend staying there, and there are loads of wonderful places to visit nearby! (Unfortunately, us adults had a more difficult time, as we had recently experienced a family bereavement at the same time as catching a nasty flu which we had for the entirety of the week - with five young children this made for an especially exhausting week! However, the accommodation was very comfortable as a place for us to recuperate, and the children had a great time in and around the place)

I booked Piglet Corner for a solo trip to Devon and for a few days of rest and renewal.
It was just perfect. I took some creative work with me and found a few hours each day to put my mind to this without any interruptions. The garden also provides a space to enjoy the views, read, write and smile at the sound of the ewes with their lambs and the occasional call of the cockerel. The local pub was a 10 minute walk from the property and the food was excellent. Tracey and Ade were on hand if I needed anything which was reassuring but in no way intrusive. The location is a short drive from the motorway, easy reach of both coasts, as well as the towns of Wellington, Cullompton and Honiton. I feel refreshed and re-energised and will no doubt return to explore more of this beautiful part of Devon. A "go to" place for well-being and relaxation whether you travel alone or take someone with you. Thank you.

The views are stunning .
A real place for relaxation . The photos donât all represent the furnishings most of which were budget . Sofa and beds not too comfortable . This is the first place I have been to in years without a welcome pint of milk at least . This will teach me to read the small print in future . Things that would help are sofas , fan assisted oven , an iron and hair dryer . A small welcome pack ( can be added to the cost) carpet on stairs threadbare in places . Divan beds not great, caused some back discomfort . No headboards .Some leaflets 3 years out of date . We sort of felt everything provided would do other than the wooden furniture which was great . That said, beautiful, peaceful surroundings and possibly more suited to people with children as the play facilities looked excellent

We loved the little barn and found it such a pleasing place to stay in. We kept finding new clever things which had been done. It was very comfortable and very peaceful indeed and the information was all at hand. We are both very elderly and some of the modern equipment needs puzzling out. We know N.Norfolk well, loved the primrose banks and the newly ploughed fields. Sadly our families were very worried about us with the coronavirus and we decided to leave 2 days early to calm them down... I think back on Wheelwrights barn with sadness and wonder in these hard times! So sorry we did not manage to set the alarm when leaving - but I did tell you as soon as we got home. We wish all of you at Norfolk Hideaways all the very best! Stay safe.
