What our customers say about their holidays

We had a fantastic stay here.
Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The views are amazing and great for birdwatchers. We saw/heard about 15 species from the back garden and would probably be great for winter birdwatching too as this is a wetland area. You have a completely separate raised section of the family's larger garden and apart from their older son occasionally riding his bike we never saw anyone and there was virtually no noise from the other properties. The road at the front is barely noticeable in the back garden and quietens right down at night. The property is just steps away from The Solent across the road where you can walk along the sea wall into pretty Yarmouth. There are lots of footpaths near the property and we did a walk that runs parallel at a distance from the property around the woods. This leads you to the edge of Yarmouth and the lovely Off The Rails cafe and then along the estuary to the Red Lion at Freshwater. We also found the dinosaur footprint casts at Hanover Point. We would love to come back again to this area and the property.

Windy Ridge is a perfect home away from home and an ideal location.
Yarmouth itself is only a 15 minute walk from the house and is a beautiful place. It was our second time staying in Yarmouth, we enjoyed it so much last year that we booked for this year while still there! The Wheatsheaf is a wonderful pub and we ate there 3 times. The food is excellent, service very good, friendly staff and also has a nice outdoor space. Gossips Cafe is also definitely worth a visit, good food and a beautiful view. Inez was an excellent host, she came to greet us on our arrival day to let us know she was on hand, she came to make sure we'd had a good stay on the day we left and was available to answer any questions during the week. The road is busy and if you're in the in the upstairs bedroom there is quite a bit of traffic noise. However, the gorgeous view more than makes up for it and wouldn't stop us booking again. Lovely little garden area at the back too, also with a stunning view. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Winterbourne Cottage Wiltshire This is a very pretty cosy cottage (once it had warmed up!
Was cold to begin). Quite spacious with large lounge, kitchen, bathroom and pretty garden. Given how nice the cottage is we felt it could have been rather better-appointed, and it does need a real deep clean although we appreciate it has been very booked-up. The village is charming with lots of lovely walks, although pitch-black at night as no lighting. Lots of lovely pubs in surrounding areas. Enjoyed going to Shaftesbury (Hovis advert), Longleat (with lions and tigers!), Salisbury, Stour Head with beautiful gardens and lake, Wardour Castle. Everyone very friendly: good Sunday lunch in welcoming Black Dog 10 minute walk, super-welcoming staff, particularly James the manager who opened up early especially for us! Great meal in Beckford Arms Fonthill Gifford. Warm welcome and massive portions at The Wyndham Ditton.

It was not the cleanest place weâve stayed in.
It smelt damp and foisty. It looked ok initially but it became apparent that proper cleaning wasnât great, there were areas that hadnât been touched for months. There were cobwebs between legs of chair in living room, all around the fire place, dense ones in corners. There also seemed to be an infestation of woodlice and I donât mean just one or two, they were crawling up the curtains each morning, across living room floor and in cupboard under sink. Although the bathroom in general was clean the bath taps were caked with limescale and gunge. The windows were filthy.Apart from that it is in a very pretty area but very remote, no facilities at all and the advertised village pub has been closed for some time.

We had a fabulous stay at Windy Ridge Cottage.
Itâs a wonderful home in a lovely location. Iâve already shared the details with friends as I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it. The best cottage weâve ever stayed in. The owners (and their children) were lovely and welcoming and provided an amazing âstarter packâ of food. I brought so much from home that was unnecessary (washing up liquid, sponge, tea towels, tea, coffee etc). The dishwasher and washing machine werenât mentioned in the listing but were very welcome additions. Not the most commercial of parts of the Isle of Wight, which was nice, but nothing is too far to travel to. Osborne House was the farthest we went and it was only 35 mins away. Highly recommended!
