What our customers say about their holidays
Tracy - Verified booking
The property itself is set in a very peaceful location.
The outside space with the larger table and chairs was perfect for us when we did an activity together. The flowers and animals were a great addition. Space inside the barn was also perfect for the amount of family members and the zoning of sofas worked really well for people to have their own space to relax. For such a large group, the facilities were not up to our standard. The fridge and dishwasher were tired and require updating. Bathrooms were a struggle and the shower pressure was very weak. An early check out time with two bathrooms made it a rush in the morning to leave promptly. Whilst there are plenty of beds in the barn, some were uncomfortable and some were small. The bedrooms were slightly tired in appearance, with one bedroomâs blinds not blocking out light which made it difficult to sleep well. Cleanliness I would have to agree with the previous feedback, where it could do with a very deep clean under beds, roof areas, floorings and rugs. There were a lot of big cobwebs and dust which appear to have been around for a long time, especially settled on the living room ceiling fan. I organised the trip and all of the guests commented on the standard of the cleanliness and the tiredness of the facilities. Overall great memories were made, however I think areas of improvement would include improving cleanliness (e.g cobwebs, dust and dirt) and upgrading the facilities provided (eg, white goods, beds, bathrooms). This would have made it more value for money.

The Barn was lovely, the owners very helpful before we arrived and when we reach our holiday home.
The only issue we had which was a personnel issue to to one guest on holiday being very disabled that it wasnât fully equipped for their needs! There was no hand rails in the bathroom, getting the wheel chair into the bathroom and transferring to the toilet was extremely difficult as was the accesses into the bedrooms. Some on this was due to us only being able to transfer the guest from the right side of her body! There was also no shower chair so was unable to shower during our stay! The bathroom itself was slightly run down and smelly all the time prob due to the drainage! Luckily another guest arrived a day later and was able to bring a commode with them which made everything so much easier, especially during the night! Overall though the stay was lovely and the Barn is beautiful just wanted to share our difficulties with regards to disabled access so others can be more prepared! The amount of equipment was amazing for other large families such as travel cots, high chair, bed guards and all essentials that a large group would need during their stay! We would certainly go back to the Barn but not with our disabled family member!

Birch House is fantastic - there really is nothing you need to bring with you to start your break here - the generous welcome pack left by Amber and Aaron enabled us to feed our party of 5 on the first evening - thank you so much.
The furniture and beds are comfortable (firm) and the towels big and luxurious. The house was spotlessly clean throughout. The hot tub was amazing and our party ranging from mid 50s to early teens enjoyed morning, mid afternoon and evening plunges to relax - there are towels in the cupboard for this too. Our teenage children enjoyed playing the selection of games available too. We used Birch House as a base to visit Bath (catch the x31 or 231 bus to avoid expensive parking and long traffic queues in to the centre - you can download an app easily and pay in advance), Bristol Zoo Project, Swindon Outlet Village, Diddly Squat Farm (beware the queue was 3 hours long for the shop) and Corsham Village. We walked to The Great Western pub for a meal and was not disappointed. We highly recommend Birch House for any length of visit - the photos, although fabulous, really do not show how amazing this house truly is. Amber and Aaron's communication from prior and throughout the visit was considerate.

The property was spotlessly clean throughout when we arrived.
All the facilities were in good working order and everything had been thought of, with lots of nice little touches. Comfortable beds. A nice little garden and small sun room as well for sunnier days. Communications with the owner were excellent. The one bathroom was perfectly sufficient for the two of us, but obviously if the property were being used by 4 people then it could get a bit busy in the mornings. The only other downside was occasional noise from the nearby school (though this was only audible in the garden, not indoors). The property is perfectly located, near the centre of Corsham in a nice locality, within very easy reach of lots of lovely places to visit (Box, Bath, Wells, Westonbirt Arboretum, Castle Combe, Malmsbury, etc). Several excellent pubs nearby as well (especially the Quarryman's Arms in Box Hill). Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this property - comfortable, well located and good value for money.
