What our customers say about their holidays

  • Linda - Verified booking

We had a lovely stay at Sunset View - which was very aptly named - beautiful sunsets every evening from the large, well-kept garden.

Kathleen & Tom provided a much-appreciated Welcome Pack which included cereal, apple tart, bread, butter, etc. They were on hand if we needed anything and were very helpful & friendly. The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable, well-kept and roomy. There was ample off-road parking. The area itself was very peaceful. It was a good location for a base and while we ventured out each day - to Galway City, Fr Ted's at Cloon, Maumturk Mts, Cong, Silverstrand (lovely beach), Roscommon ... Kathleen and Tom did tell us about the nearby 'hidden bridge trail' at Glinsk which was beautiful. Thankfully Kathleen provided the Eire Code for us prior to our visit, as the map on the website showed the cottage in the wrong place (we did mention this to Kathleen). The garden was great for my dog Ben to roam safely in. He was comfortable being there and even went uninvited into Tom & Kathleen's house to see them - they were very good about that! Sunset View was a lovely place to stay. Kathleen and Tom were very thoughtful & kind - such lovely people. Thank you. Linda, Carol, Anne & Ben the dog.

My family absolutely LOVED staying at this beautiful holiday home in one of my favourite places in Ireland, Co.

Wexford. We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave! It’s one of my favourite holiday homes I’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be returning again. Our host Fiona was so great at getting back to me with any questions I had and she’s such a lovely person and made us feel at home. The beach is up the road and also pubs / restaurants/ shops. Some gorgeous places to visit close by too and also a ferry over to Waterford. The house is just fabulous and perfect for both Adults and Toddlers and dogs. We loved the open plan kitchen/ living room so we could watch the kids and dog playing. It’s so clean and bright and comfortable. The bedrooms were perfect and en-suites showers great. The large windows are perfect to sit with breakfast and look out at beautiful views on a sunny morning or in the evening sit with a glass of wine listening to the waves crashing on the shore. It’s pure heaven. I’ve never had such a relaxing time away and I’ve 4 year old Quadruplets so that says something ! Thanks again Fiona. See you again soon X

The property is not to a standard to give a comfortable winter break, the temperature in the living area was only 16c .

If the oil fired central heating on its high setting used 1 litre per hour, oil is charged at €1 per litre which is 27+% over its actuall cost . All the heat was sucked up the open fire chimney. We used 60kg of coal , 5 baskets of peat and 1 bag of logs. Total cost of heating €81 for 6 days to attain at temperature of 18c at the end of the 6th day. This issue was exasperated by a draft around the double bedroom window, no seal around the loft space doors in the upper bedroom and no flap valve on the toilet extractor fan . All heat was lost if you opened the front door because there was no porch. A hot tap was not fitted on the left hand side , good job none of us is blind ( Europe Standard) . A sink was loose on wall , and the hot water tank had no insulation at all. I also think the bed quilts were not winter tog , their was not one sharp piece of cutlery. Dust in the corners and cobwebs all over. Bed room lay out was very poor, I'm sorry there is no finesse or care visible on this property.

This property was a superb find.

The cottage was in a very quiet spot and only 15 minutes drive to Portumna and an hour from Galway and Limerick cities. Mary Rose was the best host possible; on arrival, she made us truly welcomed and on the kitchen table was a bottle of wine for us. Also, on arrival on a cold February day, the log burner was on which made the spacious home feel even more welcoming and cosy. Our party consisted of grandparents, adult children and partners and 2 infants and it was a fabulous location to spend family time together and also to explore the area individually. All 3 bedrooms were spacious with en-suites and Mary Rose provided 2 travel cots for the little ones. The 2 donkeys in the field behind the cottage were lovely and the grandchildren loved feeding them carrots. We cannot thank her enough for the kind hospitality and interest in ensuring our stay was comfortable. Thank you Mary Rose.

This is a lovely, secluded cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

As others have said, the photos really don't do this place justice, it's lovely. The blue flag beach at Narin is very close by and is absolutely stunning. White powdery sand and crystal clear water, you could be in the tropics, only the wind and the temperature remind you you're not! The nearby town Ardara, has all the amenities you need, make sure you visit Nancy's for food, it's a brilliant place. Our puppy had the best time here, it was safe for him to roam about outside by himself, making friends (barking at) the lovely horses that come by to say hello. The weather wasn't the best whilst we stayed, but we could come back to the cosy cottage, put the fire on and relax every evening. We'd highly recommend a stay here, we only wished we'd booked for longer.
