What our customers say about their holidays

We have just returned home from a fabulous week!
This holiday was a trip down memory lane for me and it certainly gave me back some fabulous memories! Our stay at Chippers was great! Very well equipped property it had everything we needed! I have a few negatives to add but the positives are so good it wouldnât stop me staying again! My only complaints are : the cleaning could of been a little more spot on! I noticed a fair few cobwebs around the house, like you do in every house but maybe Iâm just picky, the air fresheners in the property were either full but didnât work or empty. This meant after being out all day we came back and it smelt very stuffy and shut upâ¦not fresh.. The towels provided were very generous but they were towel that didnât dry wellâ¦you know like new towels???!!! Also the toilet roll holder felt a good reach away from the toilet! Ok for me but impossible for my little one. One bedside lamp didnât work, and the lamp in the living room wouldnât turn on, and we had a drippy tap in the kitchen sink. These are just my observations. I know itâs a holiday home and you put up with some things as itâs only temporary accommodation and these may seem like silly comments but just little things that caught my eye! Canât fault anything else! The garden was well kept, a lovely hamper with bread, crisps, biscuits (Thankyou) a bottle of lemonade, very much appreciated! Beds were lovely and clean. Area was lovely and quiet (we did have a big yellow eye sore skip outside for most of the week but that canât be helped as it was for a property across the road). As I said my negative comments are not really major faults just a few little things I feel could be changed to make the property so much better and it wouldnât stop me staying again !

This barn is secluded and peaceful,it has everything you need for a quite relaxing break, it is literally home from home, all you need is food.
We did find that the water was different from our water up north/Manchester and it left a slimy residue in our black tea but it was still fine to drink,we decided to buy bottled water for our cups of tea. Their are 3 good size bedrooms, the shower in the bathroom have great water pressure and are lovely and hot,all towels and bedding are provided, the barn has underfloor heating in the kitchen which is constantly on and it also has full central heating. The upstairs living room has enough seating for 6 people. Our only faults were the tap on the sink in the upstairs bathroom is extremely noisy when turned on which could easily wake people up in the bedrooms either side, the floors upstairs do creak slot when walking about and as the bedroom downstairs is directly below the upstairs bedroom, you can hear people walking about in the night,we also had an infestation of ladybirds on the bedroom windows in both bedrooms, probably around 80 ladybirds on one single window in both bedrooms. We managed to stop them in the upstairs bedroom by putting tissue over the window vents but we couldn't pinpoint where they were getting into the downstairs bedroom. Overall this barn is a lovely place to stay with a little village 10 minutes down the rd with a small shop and pub. Everyone is also extremely friendly. Charles the owner gave us a phone call on our 1st night asking if we had settled in ok,which I found very nice. I would rate our stay in this barn at 9 out of 10

We enjoyed our stay at the recently renovated Stable.
It was comfortable and warm and nice and light throughout. The kitchen appliances were very good and there were 2 good quality TV's too. The seating and bed were nice and comfortable. The bathroom did the job although to use the shower meant removing toilet rolls etc as the whole room gets wet. One of the main reasons for choosing this location was to accomodate our dog with the large garden being a big attraction. However we found that the garden isn't fully secure. The back of the garden is only fenced off from the adjacent field by a plastic mesh fence. This wasn't fitted properly and most of it wasn't at full height and our dog easily got over it and ended up in the field. This could have resulted in him getting onto the main road. After this incident we had to have him on a lead which wasn't what we wanted for him. A more sturdy and higher fence is required to make it secure. Also the gate and metal railings could do with mesh being fitted as any dog smaller than ours could have squeezed through, ours nearly did! If those small things were sorted it is a lovely garden for a dog to be in. The only other small things I would suggest would be wi-fi and a few more basic kitchen items such as oven trays and gloves. We did enjoy our stay and would consider coming again if we felt the garden was safe for our dog. The bottle of wine and can of beer was a nice welcome upon arrival.

Really lovely, comfortable cottage.
Great location to explore the local area and a really comprehensive guidebook provided by the owner with lovely photos, recommendations of places to eat, local village guides and suggestions for trips out. We particularly enjoyed a trip to Woodall Spa followed by a drive to Sutton on Sea for fish and chips. We were a little taken aback by the layout of the cottage - the lack of internal access (although the walkway was covered) to one of the bedrooms and bathrooms was a surprise. This probably needs mentioning in the listing as this would not be suitable for everyone, especially those with younger children. The cottage was lovely and clean and well maintained although there were lots of flies upstairs and hundreds of ladybirds around all the window frames on arrival. The kitchen had everything we needed and was well stocked with crockery and glassware. Bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of towels were left. The owner rang the day after we arrived to check we had everything we needed. Although dogs are welcome at this property, they arenât allowed into the sitting room which is upstairs. The owner informed us of this after we arrived and again, I feel this needs mentioning on the website as it wouldnât suit everybody to leave the dog alone in the kitchen. Overall, a really comfortable stay in an area we will definitely return to.
