What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Williams - Verified booking
Trailside is a cosy cottage sleeping 4 just off the camel trail. Its in a great location for a 2 mile stroll or bike ride into Padstow, or a longer trek in the other direction to Wadebridge. A nice touch was to be left some cornish team, coffee and buscuits. The cottage has a spiral stair case and you definitely have to mind your head when entering the hobbit sized door into the loft bedroom. If you are an adult, using the upstairs toilet standing up is challenging due to the low ceiling. Even with good lighting and reminders be prepared to bump your head :) So you will need to keep a close eye on small children and I would not recommend it for anyone less mobile. Generally its well kitted out with a respectable Kitchen and downstairs bathroom but some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit tired. Lack of tumble dryer is probably less of an issue in summer months, but don’t forget to bring your own hair dryer as the cottage does not provide one for your use. If you want to go off grid its a good option as the internet is 1.3mbps making browsing the web difficult if not impossible. You can’t stream anything. Again, with children no internet is a problem. (I think the owner is improving this)

We had a fabulous time at Treverbyn Smithy, just what we needed.
The cottage itself was super cosy and, although we didn't get to meet Mike, he was incredibly helpful having left us lots of information on notes with tips and recommendations too. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils you could possibly need and Mike had got the woodburner prepared for us so all we needed to do was light it on arrival. It was ideally located in that it felt really out of the way but it was easy to access all kinds of walks and the nearby village of St Neot is a delight. Would recommend doing the Two Valleys Walk (as long as you are brave enough to walk through cow fields) and a walk up Rough Tor is not to be missed - it certainly blew the cobwebs off! Golitha Falls and Minions were also great. Our dog definitely enjoyed the vast amount of walks available! All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend to anyone who'd listen!

Flat extremely clean and perfect for two but has some slight quirks which need sorting out.
The blinds in the bedroom and the lounge donât fit the windows. They end about 4 inches from the bottom. In the bedroom the curtains are so flimsy that they too donât do their work. This means that you can see into the bedroom and right onto the bed from the street outside even with the curtains closed. Itâs the same in the lounge but thatâs not as worrying. There is no room on the other side of the bed for a bedside table and the shelf provided was hanging off the wall. We did inform the owner/landlord/caretaker who took it away, leaving us with no shelf. The shower is quite old and could do with replacing and the shower head and holder donât match so itâs tricky to adjust the position of the shower head. We had lovely welcome gifts which we really appreciated but Iâd prefer money to be spent on the things mentioned above.

Very clever and comfortable fit out of the shepherd's hut , providing a relaxing experience, enhanced by the lovely pale green decor.
The bed was extremely comfortable and easy to convert from the table. The shower and bathroom were perfectly adequate and immaculately presented. Our only criticism of this area is :- a couple of inches more width ( or reduce the size of the under basin cabinet ) would have made it easier for a larger person to use the toilet. The hot tub was fantastic, but I was surprised how much wood was needed to bring it from 18c to 37c ( End of June ) however once hot it kept its temperature for 24 hours after the fire had gone out, and only needed a small fire to " top up " The only other improvement I would recommend is :- More comfortable exterior seating , perhaps a pair of recliners , or Adrionic style chairs with cushions, this would have enabled us to sit out in the evening and enjoy the lovely views and tranquility.
