The wow-factor starts when you drive up to Daddyhole Plain. There are so few places in the country with a 180 sea view, it’s totally magical. We were lucky to have a gorgeous sunshine arrival, so the patio garden at the front was beautiful to enjoy on our first evening. The cottage enjoys evening sunshine and the kids were so happy to play on the field while we made dinner. The kitchen is superbly equipped with top notch appliances and enough crockery and cutlery to feed everyone without having to wash up - the dishwasher was a godsend! Top quality pans (wish I had those at home) and having an abundance of glasses, wine and otherwise was a bonus. The decor in the house is just gorgeous, the sumptuous sofa, divine beds with amazing linen, the comfortable furniture - and all of the beautiful decor, it really feels like a home-from-home with some real finesse. We didn’t get to enjoy the log burner, but a cosy night with hot chocolates and blankets would be wonderful. It’s a 10 minute walk downhill to the harbour and all the restaurants and bars, turning left takes you either down the hill or coast path to Meadfoot beach. A wonderful adventure either way. From the harbour there are boat trips to Brixham & Dartmouth, and We-Sup does paddle board hire with lockers and showers, along with intro courses for adults & kids. A fantastic way to discover the coast and a wonderful guided tour if you’re an experienced boarder. Torbay Yacht club runs courses for the uninitiated if you’re up for dinghy sailing, the kids had a great morning course while we were in Torquay. Will definitely expand on this on our next stay. All in all, a great base for a holiday, amazing hosts and a truly memorable stay on the Riviera. Can’t wait to return!

A lovely cottage in an amazing location. Bedrooms are good a size and it’s well decorated throughout. The living area was smaller than I initially thought and could be a squeeze for a family with teenage children. The management of the property was poor. The washing machine broke whilst we were on holiday, with a load of washing stuck in the drum. Little support was given to help rectify the situation in a timely fashion. However, text messages and follow up emails from original cottages reminding us of our leaving time kept on coming with no regard to the washing machine and our clothes being trapped! I have had no response from the management company to my email sent. I do think I was unlucky , and prior to this situation occurring all was going well.

We had a fantastic stay at Harbour Lights. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable and very big. The kitchen and whole house was so well equipped like home from home, Seven of us stayed - myself and husband, daughter, two granddaughters and two grandsons and our little dog. Plenty of outside space for sitting and a safe garden too. The living space was large enough for our family from Devon to reunite after two years which was wonderful. We had our granddaughter’s wedding at Cockington Court which was nearby and in a lovely village. The views over the bay were spectacular day and night. The cleaning lady was lovely. We could not fault Harbour Lights and would love to return in the future.

Fantastic stay. The house was so clean and had everything you needed. Kitchen was well stocked with every utensil you needed and the welcome pack was just lovely. We stayed as a family of 4 inc a 6 & 3 year old plus our dog. Excellent location as so much for a young family to do all within 10 mins drive of the house. Also lots of lovely walks for the dog. The view was just spectacular and we all loved seeing the lights of Torquay in the evenings and waking up to the sunrise in the mornings. The kids also loved the ‘disco bath’ upstairs :) Can not recommend Harbour Lights enough and are hoping to rebook for next year. Thank you for sharing your house with us x
