What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely property in a perfect location!
Located on the main route along the top coast we had easy access to all the places on our list to visit; Giantâs Causeway, Carrick a Rede, Mussenden Temple, Dunluce Castle, Ballycastle and Raithlin Island. There were also many other places we discovered down narrow, steep, hairpinned roads that dropped to small rugged coves or harbours. This whole area was more wild, rugged and wonderful than I had expected. The house is out in the countryside in a group of similar properties. Inside, the house was beautifully cared for and decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. It was comfortable, clean and spacious. All the extra bits we often take on holiday had been provided. The patio garden at the back was a sun trap for late afternoon evening relaxing, although it was right next to the main road and did get traffic noise. We had wonderful sunsets from the back bedroom window over the distant sea. The parking is arranged just in front of the house with other properties parking in a row facing their homes along the fence line. We enjoyed a trip to Bushmills distillery and the Bushmills Inn. We also ate at Grayâs just a couple of minutes drive down the road, which we really enjoyed. We arranged an Asda delivery on our arrival and popped into the Spar and Co-op in Bushmills when passing for extras. One day we headed to Belfast to the Titanic exhibition then on to The Gobbins Cliff Walk, both of which were excellent. There are many lovely looking beaches all along the coast Benone, Downhill, White Rocks, White Park Bay as well as Ballycastle. I imagine during the summer months these would be very popular. We chose to travel from Cairnryan to Larne with a two hour crossing time, which worked very well for us. I would happily return to Stillwaters tomorrow and do it all again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse.
It's a lovely house. Thank you very much for the generous hamper! Just a couple of things to feedback. First, on the beds, there was a thick layer underneath the sheet as well as a thick duvet. This really wasn't necessary and made it too hot to sleep. I realise this could be removed by the guest, but I didn't feel comfortable doing so. Second, while it's good to have automatic outdoor lights, considering the house in located in a dark skies location, it would be amazing if they turned off after a minute. We sat outside and waited 10 minutes for the lights at the back to turn off. Once they were off, we loved being able to see the stars! Third, it's great that you offer an outside dog area. But we were confused as to where it was placed on the deck. Where it is, it blocks the view and the tall fence doesn't help. If you ever redo the back area, consider moving it to the fence which separates the farm from the back area and lower the fence. Then guests could really enjoy the amazing views! Just a few points to mention, but overall, absolutely amazing house in a stunning location and I would love to go back to the area and stay for a whole week and the farmhouse would make a perfect base! Just some minor points, but I think it would make a big difference.

What a wonderful home from home!
Nothing was too much trouble for Martina, who provided the warmest welcome on our first evening, the best welcome hamper and most fully supplied kitchen Iâve ever seen in a holiday cottage, and so many other little touches to make us feel comfortable, from the plentiful supply of fluffy towels to the turf for the range. Cosy evenings by the warm range doing the jigsaw puzzles and playing some of the board games were another highlight of our stay. The house itself is in a great location - peaceful and secluded but within an hour or twoâs drive of all sorts of interesting places, so a great base from which to explore. It was a bonus to be so close to the Beaghmore Stone Circles, and weâll have to go back in more clement weather to explore the observatory and the delights of the night sky in this area which is so beautifully free of light pollution. There was ample parking for our car, and our son enjoyed riding his bike in the driveway. Had he been more proficient, the Stone Circles and Davagh Forest were an easy cycle ride away and a lovely place to visit. All in all, a lovely week in the perfect holiday cottage. None of us wanted to leave, and weâre all looking forward to our next visit.

We enjoyed our stay here very much.
It was our first visit to Northern Ireland, and the house provided a comfortable home for a base. We were warmly and personally welcomed by Martina and she had a wonderful local knowledge of the area. The welcome pack was much appreciated- particularly the generous amount of milk, the amazing hamper and well stocked kitchen which was very helpful after a long journey including a ferry. The whole house is very well equipped and very clean. The seating area is perhaps a little cramped for 6 people but probably only a problem in wet weather. The surrounding area is quite remote and very peaceful which is why we chose the cottage. Beautiful walks and scenery on the doorstep including an observatory in the dark sky area. Some National Trust properties and fantastic coastline further afield. Martina is a very helpful host- nothing seemed too much trouble for her, even offering to meet guests on arrival and guide them from the nearby town in the car if needed. However the directions were clear and worked well. A traditional farmhouse in a beautiful area- we had a lovely week of exploring from a comfortable base.

We had a wonderful stay at this property.
It has a great location with lovely views of the town and Carlingford Lough. It is conveniently situated with easy access to the town. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with comfortable furniture. Everything we needed was there. If we had a wish list it would be to add a smart tv so that we could watch netflix etc. We missed having an ensuite but the bathroom was handy to all bedrooms so it wasn't a serious issue. The second toilet was useful. We would have preferred dog proof fencing at the front of the property or perhaps a fully fenced backyard. There was no barrier between the house at both ends to prevent our small dog from leaving the property had it tried to. The rear fence slats were a little wide or at least appeared to be consequently we had to stand guard whilst our Zoe went outside. All in all a great property and a credit to its owners. Thanks for allowing us to spend a week there, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh and thanks so much for the goodies you left for us, tea cakes and crisps etc.
