  I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Lower Farm Barn, and I must say it was a remarkable experience.

  From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning outdoor space, spacious rooms, and impeccable selection of furniture, fittings, and design. This place truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We even received a little welcome basket with all the essentials that we needed for the first few days - it was a lovely touch. First and foremost, the outdoor space surrounding the Barn Farm Conversion were nothing short of breathtaking. Lush greenery and well-maintained pathways created a serene and picturesque setting. Our kids and dogs enjoyed the space. The spacious rooms in the converted barn were a delightful surprise. Each room was thoughtfully designed, with plenty of space to accommodate families and their furry friends. The interiors were tastefully decorated, seamlessly blending modern comfort with the rustic charm of the countryside. The attention to detail in the design was evident, with carefully chosen colors, textures, and furnishings that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every aspect of the barn conversion was carefully considered, and it showed. The furniture was not only aesthetically pleasing but also exceptionally comfortable. The fittings and fixtures were of high quality and perfectly complemented the overall design of the space. It was evident that great care had been taken to create a harmonious and stylish environment. As a family traveling with kids and dogs, Lower Farm Barn was an absolute haven. The property was well-suited for families, providing ample space for children to play and explore. The open layout and well-planned design allowed for easy movement, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and relaxed. The added bonus of being able to bring our four-legged companions along made our stay truly memorable. Furthermore, everything was in great shape. The property was meticulously maintained, and every detail was taken care of. From the spotless cleanliness to the excellent upkeep of amenities, we felt like we were staying in a five-star hotel. It was evident that the owners took great pride in their property and made every effort to ensure a top-notch experience for their guests. The level of care and thought put into every aspect of the property was truly commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming farm conversion to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable countryside getaway.

  Shenley Cottage is in a beautiful location that speaks to the beauty of the Cotswolds.

  Unfortunately, the house itself is very tired and needs an update. It was incredibly dirty throughout the house with excessive cobwebs in virtually every corner - even in the doorways. The kitchen had not been cleaned and had stains and spillage marks from the top down. There were spiders and cobwebs underneath the top cupboards, between the fridge and ceiling, giving the impression that the property had been neglected for some years. The children were scared of the house due to the sheer number of spiders and cobwebs hanging over their beds and common areas. We did complain about the cleanliness and after some negotiation, they sent a cleaner the next day, who cleaned a few cobwebs and the dirt in the cutlery drawer!!! The on-suite had pee on and around the toilet and was not cleaned at our request, although they did clean the hairs and scum from the main bathroom. All the doors were stained with years of dirt collecting on them. We were very disappointed as the pictures on the website look lovely. The house needs several days of deep cleaning. Having said that, we were very grateful that at least the beds were clean and comfortable. Most of the house is warm, although the radiator in the children's bedroom was broken. I would never come back to stay here.

  We found Victoria Cottage to be a pleasant stay over the Christmas week.

  The cottage is in a great location in Chipping Norton, walking distance to all local restaurants, pubs and supermarkets . The large rear garden is a great asset (would be lovely during the warmer months!). The car space is tight but was available at all times during our stay. The property falls short overall cleanliness and maintenance. Cleaning supplies provided were slim and lack basics. We had to request a hoover and dust pan which was provided same day. After use of Difficult to maintain the cottage without providing the essentials. Fireplace was a lovely feature but no instructions to remove the ash build up. Victoria Cottage is in a great location within the Cotswolds but does require improvements. The cleanliness of the cottage including dust throughout needs to be addressed. The mould in the upper bedroom also illustrates the overall maintenance issues of the cottage. These issues can be addressed with continuous maintenance. Overall Victoria Cottage is a nice rental but does require improvement. Location, layout and outdoor space is great. Just needs deep clean and more soft facilities. Victoria Cottage appeared a more clinical rental compared to prior rentals I have stayed with Manor Cottages.

  The property was very lovely and well maintained.

  It was spotlessly cleaned too, even down to the kitchen drawers and storage. Great communal space for a big group, there was 8 of us and a dog. Kitchen was well equipped and good sized fridge, freezer and cooker. A couple of very minor points only for feedback not to criticise. The bedroom off the living area was lovely but needed a mirror somewhere in the bedroom. it was virtually impossible to dry hair and use the bathroom mirror and if someone was using the bathroom at the same time. A loose toilet seat in the shared bathroom. Also check in time being 6pm is very late indeed. We were kindly emailed to say we could check in earlier at 1pm but the Journey took over 4 hours so it was too late to get there much earlier as we had already scheduled our leaving time, therefore the email was too late for us to set off earlier. We were also aware of the check in time when we booked, but still considered it late. We did get there a little earlier and we were able to access the property, which we were grateful for. I would still highly recommend the property and the process

  Victoria Cottage was a lovely base to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.

  The cottage was warm, cosy and comfortable and was based a very short walk from Chipping Norton. We didn’t do much cooking but the small galley kitchen looked well equipped to make meals. There was a secure private garden for our dogs, (but make sure the gate to the busy road is closed as this is shared with a neighbour to access a small path leading to neighbours garden). Chipping Norton has plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants and we went there most evenings for food and drink. The locals are really welcoming and friendly and the pubs and restaurants welcomed our dogs just as warmly. The blue Boar and Chequers were our favourites and Alberto’s Italian Restaurant was a great discovery. As well as providing great food and drink Alberto’s welcomed our dogs too, it’s well worth a visit. The Cotswold villages are breathtaking and there are photo opportunities at every corner. Would definitely recommend Victoria Cottage and hope to return ourselves as there are still plenty of places we didn’t get around to visiting.
