What our customers say about their holidays
Jamie - Verified booking
The property is beautiful, lovely layout and decorated beautifully.
It was clean and itâs fully equipped too with all the crockery and cookware youâd need and we were even left a small milk in the fridge, some shortbread biscuits and there was tea, coffee, coffee pods for the nespresso machine, washing powder, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, kitchen paper - all the things I brought with me we didnât need as it was all provided. Thereâs a tv in the living area and bedroom and both were smart tvs which worked great with the brilliant wifi. The hot tub is lovely, although wished it had more of a view - such as in the front garden area itâs a shame these are split areas although we obviously appreciated the privacy of where the hot tub actually is but just not the view of the iron barn next door. Itâs also great that itâs dog friendly, and itâs peaceful and quite remote but still close to main parts of the Cotswolds and attractions. The only downside was the extra charge for the hot tub - this is a premium property and itâs expensive to stay here as it is and I think the hot tub should have been included in the price as itâs unlikely people who are booking this property are not going to use it - for us it was the main reason for booking this particular property. I only found out about the £50 extra charge for the hot tub 5 days before we were due to arrive, which is lucky as I wouldâve been disappointed had we arrived and the hot tub not been filled. It was not clearly advertised that there was an additional charge for the hot tub when we booked through booking.com (unlike the £25 dog charge which is clearly advertised and I rang up Sykes cottages after booking online to pay that fee - had I the hot tub fee been clearly advertised I wouldâve paid this at the same time or probably wouldâve booked a different property where the hot tub was included). This was very disappointing and really put a dampener on our birthday celebration minibreak before we even set off

Park Bothy was unbelievably clean.
The facilities were lovely and and well appointed for a couple. That being said, there were a few minor frustrations during our trip. 1. When we arrived there was no fire lighters to light the fire. With such a main feature of the property I thought this was frustrating. I called and I was told that someone would drop them off soon and that took 3 hours. 2. The radiator in the bedroom didnât work. I again called the maintenance and someone was sent to look at it (the same chap bought fire lighters) but again it was around 3 hours since I reported the issue and we were just sat about during our relaxing break waiting for someone. We were also told he needed to come back the following day to fix so again, no heat in the bedroom in November. 3. The bedside lamps donât work on the far side of the bedroom. I didnât even want to bother with this as it was late and we only had one more night. 4. The knives were really poor in the kitchen. They are more dangerous when blunt than sharp. Iâd like to reiterate that aside from the above the stay was excellent. The hot tub was fantastic, the place was cosy, easy to find and an easy walk to Stow and Bourton. The above points are just feedback that would of made our stay perfect. We would certainly return.

We had a lovely stay at Park Bothy!
We were so glad to have found this little gem whilst visiting The Cotswold. Everything we needed was at the cottage even some milk & cookies for us which was a lovely touch after a long journey. The property itself as described is beautiful and homely, our little dog was so at home with a lovely garden at the front. The bed was amazing & comfy and hot tub was an additional bonus, lovely and clean. We didnât realise how easy it was to get to places, Bourton On The Water was only a 6-7min drive and other places including shops only a quick trip in the car! Check in was a 4pm which was well suited for us and the drive is right next to the house.m (so handy!) The only comments we could make was some things needed maintenance I.e bathroom shelf, we found the bathroom & lounge could have been hoovered a little more and the front gate I noticed the property next door had chicken wire on and ours didnât. With our dog only being small, she did try and attempt to sneak through the gaps in the fence. It would be nice if that could be added just to make it even more secure, with there being a road near by. Thank you for an amazing stay, we will 100% recommend and would stay again!

We found this lovely little lodge to be very pleasant for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs) for our short stay in Ledbury.
The landlady was so helpful with regards arrival time and we found the lodge to be clean with some very thoughtful touches (kids were impressed by the nice biscuits and crisps that were waiting for us). The location was excellent as it was only a short walk to the station, to the town, and up the hill into the woods. We did find the advert to be slightly misleading as we thought weâd have an orchard to walk round but were told that wasnât part of the property. However there was a small garden area for the dogs and the woods were 2 mins away as mentioned already. We personally wouldnât choose to stay again as a whole family because our teenagers were really too old for the bouncy bunk beds and we would prefer 3 bedrooms if we stayed away again, but if you have younger kids, or are a couple on your own, this would be absolutely fine. If hubby and I were venturing off on our own with the dogs weâd come back to this lodge for sure. The sofa in the living room was really comfy, the outlook is very pretty and we had no WiFi problems contrary to the reports of other guests.

Gorgeous property inside and out including the grounds, looked and felt new too, it was amazing!
We had a great stay, comfy huge bed, cosy lounge area especially when the fire was on, kitchen was everything you needed and very well equipped, hot tub was so clean just like the whole property, it was great the garden was fully enclosed so we could let the dog out without worrying where she could go, the doggy welcome pack was a really lovely gesture as was the mince pies left for us and the folder made up was so informative. Great you could park the car right next to the front door and the house was in a fantastic location - you do need to drive realistically however you are only 7 minutes from Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold which are lovely villages with lots in, as well as being close to other places. My only wish would have been to be able to check in earlier to make the most of the property even more as check in at 6pm was quite late especially as it was pitch black when we got there at 6pm so it was hard to see the entrance to the driveway/see which house we were in easily! Would 100% love to stay again and would recommend to everyone I know!
