We visited Callow Fold in January 2024 for a week.
Upon arrival the lights in the cabin had been put on, which was instantly cosy and welcoming, the cabin was always really warm to an impressive standard, especially as it was January and it was below zero outside, but we was always very warm and cosy. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. It is extremely quiet and peaceful, there's a beautiful stillness and on a night the stars are incredible. We enjoyed sitting out with the fireplace burning whilst star gazing. Derek is friendly and none intrusive, he is on hand if you need him, but you still have your own privacy. Of course Barney the dog is amazing and a great addition and very child friendly. In our experience the cabin was due a deep clean and we did spend a couple of hours cleaning on our first morning-mainly the floors and corners of floors where there were a lot of dead lace wings. Unfortunately there was no hoover and only a sweeping brush, so it was hard to get the rug clean in the living area, the addition of a hoover would be great. However, the bathroom and kitchen worktops were very clean. The kitchen cupboards would benefit from a good sort out and organisation to provide more space for storing food and detail cleaning such as the cuttlery draw as they easily accumulate bits etc.Possibly less table chairs as we had to shuffle some furniture around to make more space. The cabin is off grid and for us this was a great selling point, but it was not specified or highlighted in the description-I think highlighting this aspect would draw a lot of interest and bookings. Derek has done a great job of creating an off grid cabin that is warm, has great hot water and pressure and instant hot water for making hot drinks, no waiting for the kettle to boil. We had better water pressure and heating facilities at Callow Fold than other brick and morter accommodation we have stayed in. Some people state you can walk from the cabin, you can but it is country road walking with no designated walking routes or public footpaths, so if you have young children just consider this. There is a circular type walk near the cabin, but not very accessible in wet weather and unfortunately lots of tree felling which spoils the natural beauty -something that was frustrating for Derek too. The Cabin is a good base to visit places such as Stiperstones, Carding Mill Valley and Ludlow, but be prepared to drive and to be confident on small country roads. Overall Callow Fold is definitely worth a visit, especially if you want to experience peace and stillness.

The site managers were lovely especially the male, both were approachable and friendly.
The accommodation was warm and comfortable. There were no accessible hoover, brush or mop to be able to clean. We took our dog and it would have been nice to have been able to clean the floor after our walks. The Hot tub smelled very strong of cloreen that it stung our eyes, we even told them not to attend to it for the last 2 days. During our week stay we only used the Hot tub 3 times which was part of the reason for booking that location. When the jets were on in the Hot tub black bits came out and were floating about, we even had to buy a net to try to clean the black bits out. When we arrived we were informed that the games room and bar area was closed. This was disappointing as we had two 12 year olds with us who was looking forward to the games room. We were left a folder with how to work things in the accommodation, however the Wifi code never worked to either of the log ins given resulting in two very board children. The Sky TV was our saving although this was still limited. The log fire was lovely but again there were nothing to light it with and we had to go a purchase a lighter to light it.

Beautiful little holiday lodge.
Me an my family had a brilliant week and the kids loved the pool and off course Barney the dog. The place is so clean an the bedding spotless and the beds are so comfy we all sleep perfectly. Beautiful scenery. Derek the owner is lovely and very helpful and is lovely with the kids to. the only thing I would say is it's probably not suitable for anyone not good on their feet or wheelchair users as the lodge is on a hill and the ground around the property is very lumpy an bumpy and access to the pool takes you across uneven grassy ground slightly uphill then down a grass slope so unfortunately we couldn't take my 83 year old nan down to the pool side so she could watch the kids. But other then that I would 100% recommend this place the local area is lovely and ludlow is a beautiful place to walk around and find food. We will definitely be back 10/10

My family (including my dog) had an amazing stay here.
It was very clean and the hot tub was clean and properly maintained too. We did have an issue trying to connect to the WiFi here so we just used our data but Iâm sure it would have been sorted out if we asked. Also the cabin is on a camping site which wasnât stated on Sykes site, but that wasnât a problem as it was nice and quiet in the evenings. We also discovered a wasp nest at the back of the cabin which we brought to the attention of Ian (the owner) So all in all we had great break away and would definitely go back again.

Beautiful cabin, stunning views, adequate kitchen space, clean fresh bedding, out door washing line and pegs, lovely outdoor area for the dog to run and potter, Derek the owner and Jody ( I think her name was) the cleaner, lovely people.
..will definitely return. Washing machine broke on our stay and was replaced within 24 hours - the washing line was a must have and we were grateful to have use of it. Loo seat was on its last hinges, but I'm sure Derek will have sorted that already. We did miss a basic kettle - though a good quality water heater was provided. Kitchen cupboards full of goodies - pots pans bags potatoes bowls etc - though a bit chaotic and shoved in
