What our customers say about their holidays

Wonderful property. . Debbie was a fantastic host and had a wonderful team it was lovely to meet them and of course their fur babies. Olive Tree House was beautiful, clean (spotless) and amazing. I can't even begin to write everything as it would go on for pages. It ticked all the boxes we look for in a property for my husband , myself and 2 poochies. We have stayed in many properties and always looking for the perfect one and I must say we have found it. Secluded and private( but walking distance to amenities) . Beautiful village and friendly village store for essentials and goodies. Huge garden and totally fenced in for piece of mind with 2 small cockapoos. Then (even better) a huge paddock for them to run around straight out the garden gate. They loved ð it so much. The property itself is stunning! Beautifully designed with a lot of love and thought. Huge bed and lovely slipper bath and then through to bathroom with a lovely rainfall shower. Comfy couch in the living room and open plan kitchen with everything you need. We didn't get on with the Aga ( we are novices) but do see it's appeal and it kept the whole property warm without having to use the log burner on colder days. Great wifi and we took our fire stick to put in TV to watch our programmes. We didn't get chance to use the wood fired hot tub or fire pit but it looked amazing. We didnt use the car once! So many gorgeous walks from the doorstep and lovely pub in 20 minute walk through the church garden/footpath and through corn field and down a quiet lane. We didn't want to leave and booked our next stay whilst we were there for the other property cherrystone barn ( which is next door) in April for our wedding anniversary which looks just as fabulous. We can't wait to return again. Thank you Debbie for sharing your little piece of heaven x

Came and stayed in the smaller Cooks Hopper hut for 8 days and cannot recommend highly enough. Incredible value and dog friendly. The studio apartment convert has WiFi and smart TV, well-appointed kitchen, spacious wet room, and a panoramic, unspoilt view right outside your door. The local owners were friendly and helped quickly and kindly when we lost our outdoor parasol to the wind, coming back with a replacement quickly and with no recriminations. The place is clean, the air is clear, the water’s soft, the walks are myriad, farm shops abound, and the beaches are only 25 minutes away. The weather mid June was Mediterranean. The local area is picturesque and unique, and steeped in English history. Beautiful examples of old churches and country estates (check out the one near Linton if you get time). As a couple currently in a low income situation, managing to take a holiday in such a nice location with such a lovely property, not to mention being able to bring our beloved dog for a minuscule £30 (the cost for kennels for 7 nights was £300, and this way we know he’s being looked after as well as he deserves) was an absolute revelation. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we’re certainly hoping to be able to come back here again, and we’d urge anyone else wanting to take a break no more than an hour and a half from west London in such beautiful surroundings. Absolutely amazing! Thanks so much to Nigel and Karen. Both of us feel revived and refreshed after the stress of Lockdown. Would rate six stars if I could.

What a gem! We spent the most glorious week here at Olive Tree House, it was the perfect spot to celebrate our 20 years together. The cabin and the gardens are beautiful, you can really feel the love that Debbie & Tom have put into the place. It is choc full of everything you're going to need and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating; you won't want for anything. It's a fab location for exploring East Sussex and there's also plenty of walks on your doorstep if you don't fancy heading out in the car. Or even to just sit on the deck with a glass of wine enjoying the view is heaven. The kitchen is great, we had fun getting to grips with the aga. The fire is gorgeous. The bed is huge and super comfy, we slept well. The bath is lovely and the shower was fabulous! The village has a brilliant shop where we topped up on goodies a few times and they have lovely coffee too. On the Thursday night it transformed into the local pub for a night which was wonderful; it's such a nice community. One day we walked over to a neighbouring village in Upper Dicker to their Village Shop & Cafe. It was brilliant and we were thrilled to see a selection of vegan options, the vegan breakfast was cracking! We can't rave about this place enough, it's an absolute beauty. A perfect holiday home to find some peace, to relax and to recharge. Thank you Debbie & Tom for a delightful stay, we loved it and hope to return in the future. Good luck with it all, love Claire & Lew x

Lucy was fantastic, she was friendly and obliging over text and helping me get in.
The Hut itself is a beautiful thing. I was able to cook easily and one can make the space quite toasty of a chilly evening if you so wish. Its on a very pretty farm; I enjoyed seeing Velvet the pig in the morning from the bathroom window and loved the horse who would often approach the enclosure out of carefree curiosity. The Hut door faces the sunrise. As I was there to meditate and relax, I was delighted to discover the open to public spiritual gardens and yurt of "The Quiet View" only two minutes up the road (give it a google). I really enjoyed the country lane and woodland walks the surrounding area had to offer. I was surprised how quiet and left to my own devices I could get as its only 7 miles from a city. I popped into Canterbury for the Cathedral (and Tesco) and it was only 20 mins on the bus with a £2 card tap. That said, a breezy walk into next village Barham has quite a nice shop and Bishopsbourne the other way had a nice pub and cafe. About 150m up the road from the Hut was a blue plaque for the Sculptor Henry Moore who lived there in the 30s (for any fellow nosy art nerds out there!). A really gorgeous stay, I shall return.
