  Nice little place, the location is great and the views are lovely and as described.

  Check in was easy and owner responded quickly to the question we had. Having the beach and costal walks at our doorstep was the selling point. Pub and mini market in walking distance were another plus. Sadly we couldn't use the outdoor seating area to enjoy the views due to the strong winds and rainy weather but that's in no one's control. The place was clean, tidy and bright and the kitchen was very well equipped. Perhaps the layout with kitchen table and seating area could be slightly better but was ok for us as we were only 3 people. Would also be nice to put your legs up after a long day walking, maybe something to think about. Board Games were provided too. Big disappointment were the twin beds, as mattresses were so uncomfortable, very hard and with springs poking through and had definitely seen better days, it was very difficult to get a good nights sleep. Something which could easily be rectified. Mattress on double bed is better and more comfortable, so we gave it to my 80 year old mum who came with us to sleep on. On the plus, linen and towels were clean, fresh and looked new. Late check in on arrival and early check out on the Sunday, plus cleaning before departure made it a bit stressful and less worth for money spend, especially then one only stays for a weekend. Overall however a lovely place, which we would certainly recommend and come back to, if mattress issue is addressed.

  The Coach House is beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen and bathrooms have high quality fittings and are well laid out. The showers are great and there’s a jacuzzi bath. There’s lots of storage space in the bedrooms, with lovely fitted wardrobes and built in drawers. The beds are comfortable and it was nice to have lighter summer weight duvets with throws for extra warmth if needed. The curtains and other soft furnishings are beautiful. Outside, the patio has sun on it in the morning and evening, so is a lovely place to sit, with gorgeous views over the countryside. It is dog-friendly, fully enclosed, so safe for our inquisitive young spaniel! The house is only a few minutes drive from the main road along the coast, so really easy to get to places. The village is small, with one pub, the Spyway Inn. It is about 10-15 minutes walk across the village. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the food is very good. Would recommend. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday. There are a couple of pubs in nearby Burton Bradstock - the food at the Anchor Inn was also good. Hive beach is worth a visit, and has a great beach cafe. Dogs can be taken on parts of the beach, so good for walking. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House and would highly recommend it as a base to see a lovely part of the country!

  I emailed you from the cottage.

  Incredibly dissatisfied with the location and condition. Had we known it was right next to the A35 we would not have booked. Two nights unable to sleep due to the incessant noise from cars speeding down the A35, it went on throughout the night. Mould in the bathroom and a general air of neglect. The general state of the cottage left a lot to be desired. Has anyone from Sykes been to check it out.....? We have an annex at our Hampshire home and consistently get 10 out of 10 from guests, Barton cottage would rate three at best on our scale Will not be recommending this to anyone, Its an incredible disappointment given that it was a 60th birthday surprise for me fiancé. Someone from your company needs to visit this cottage and ask themselves would they pay the amount we have paid. Is there a way of sending pictures of mould, please advise We feel cheated and feel a refund would be appropriate Sincerely

  Broadstones is set in a rural area alongside a crossroads /country lanes.

  Be prepared for narrow lanes with passing places (also potholes and ruts) when heading out in either direction. The cottage is well cared for and comfortable, without being luxurious. The added space offered by the sunny conservatory is a real bonus and the enclosed garden is a big plus point too. The owners live nearby and are very experienced in holiday letting. The kitchen with dining area is on the small side but has the main equipment you'd need for preparing meals. However, we did find it strange that there was nothing in the way of simple storecupboard items such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, coffee or tea. The bathroom is modern and the large shower has good pressure. If future holidaymakers prefer a nice big bath sheet, we'd advise them to take their own as the bath towels provided are not all that big. Overall, we had a good week and were lucky with the weather too.

  The cottage is in a lovely, peaceful and picturesque location and has been finished to a high standard (and stylishly done), the photos don’t really do it justice. We stayed as a group of 4 adults and had a really pleasant stay, we were fortunate to enjoy the patio and bbq area. We’ve given a bit of feedback to the owners to make this an even more comfortable stay for future guests (it’s clearly a newly renovated cottage)…but nothing significant enough that should stop people from booking this good value for money cottage. We were able to get to Weymouth, Lyme Regis and attractions like Durdle Door easily from here, it’s a good base to explore Dorset. We spotted lovely wildlife from the breakfast bar too….! Having 3 toilets/showers was a real bonus as a group of 4 too.
