What our customers say about their holidays

I would say that this was the most disappointing holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.
We have booked with Sykes on several occasions previously & have been very impressed with the standard of accommodation, but unfortunately on this occasion our experience failed to meet our expectations. From the photos it looks as though the cottage is remote & offers privacy, however you are nestled between two other properties & next to a camp site. Due to building work next door & the lack of privacy, it was like living next door to a building site & made the garden space unusable. We didn't feel like we could sit out there at all, plus the "secure garden" we were promised for our dog was quite the opposite & our dog escaped instantly! The shower was also unusable (I think the thermostat had packed up) and alternated between freezing cold & boiling hot. I had to wash my hair over the sink instead. None of the internal doors shut properly & the kitchen scissors & torch mentioned on the itinerary which would have been useful were absent. Also due to two other cars sharing the parking area, it made it extremely difficult to manoeuvre to get out without conducting a 10 point turn!! I would definitely not return to this cottage. Very unsatisfactory!!!

So glad that I found this gem of a holiday home!
It's set in a lovely village which is a hub for outdoor activity. The house itself is well resourced and felt a real 'home from home'. I was especially relieved by the different pillow options which meant that everyone slept well. The views from the large bifold windows were wonderful and once you become familiar with the area it is possible to pick out landmarks. For an active family holiday this is perfectly located. We walked the Tolkien Trail from the front door and cycled both locally and on the trails of Gisborne Forest and around Bolton Abbey. For a quiet get away trip, I would highly recommend it as it is not heaving with tourists like the neighbouring Lake District. Clitheroe is worth visiting for the castle and Everyman cinema. Additionally, the Holmes Mill Food Hall is a real treat for foodies! There are numerous other local pubs which serve great food in fabulous settings. All in all we would recommend the Ribble Valley as a super holiday destination. To stay at 3 Clough Cottages was the icing on the cake!

We had a wonderful few weeks at 3 Clough Cottages while waiting for repairs to our house.
The place was so comfortable and tastefully furnished in beautiful colour schemes, with charming furniture, artwork and soft furnishings in a modern feel house despite being inside a former pub. The main kitchen and dining area was very well equipped and had a large walk in utility room. The separate large lounge with its two comfortable sofas, three lamps and large TV was a very relaxing space to chill in the evenings. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the bathrooms were done in gorgeous tiling. The lighting throughout was excellent with many options. The surrounding area is perfect for long country walks or runs including the Tolkien Trail. There is some road noise being on the main road but it didnât affect us at all. The owners were extremely helpful to us. We would definitely stay there again.

This was an excellent choice.
The cottage is in a really nice village in a great area for touring and visiting interesting places. Or walking in the countryside if thatâs your thing. On entering the cottage you are struck by the size, cleanliness and extremely well presented furniture and equipment. It really is a first class property. There were five of us and we used the three bedrooms and three bathrooms! We were all impressed with our rooms and everyone found the beds to be sooo comfortable. The lounge was so inviting for our cosy evenings together. There was a welcome pack - what can I say - this was well over and above any expectations. The secure parking for two cars in the gated area was reassuring. Would we recommend this property, yes, yes, yes.

We loved our stay at Ribble View, itâs spotlessly clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location.
We watched lambs playing in the field in front of the window, wild deer and hares. The owners had left a very generous welcome pack and fresh flowers on the table. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to others. My only suggestion would be something on the gate to stop smaller dogs being able to squeeze under. I have a cocker spaniel and she managed to get under the gate to say hello to another dog while we were sat in the hot tub so we had a soggy, embarrassing dash in our swimmers across the caravan field to get her. We didnât want to leave her inside on her own so it did mean we couldnât fully relax while we were in the hot tub. But such a small detail and didnât take anything away from our wonderful stay.
