What our customers say about their holidays

Just returned from a fantastic 6 day stay at Coach House Cottage in Ingleton.
On arrival we were met by Lisa and Ryan, the owners who live in the main house next door. A lovely couple who were always on hand to assist, but never intrusive. There was also a nice welcome pack. The cottage is very cosy, with its quirky layout, which is long and narrow with little elevation changes to the three separate bedrooms. The kitchen-diner is on the lower level at the back and is approached by a fairly steep staircase. The kitchen whilst quite compact, is very nice and new, with everything that you could possibly need. Decent mobile reception and WIFI signal is fine and free. There are terrestrial TVs in the lounge and each bedroom, but can't comment as didn't use them. The rear patio is a beautiful sun trap with new furniture, hot tub, barbeque and great views of the river and the old viaduct. We had Roxy our very inquisitive Staffie with us. Whilst she was made very welcome and allowed full access to the whole property, including the gardens and the lower level terraces leading to the river, security may be an issue for some, if your dog is a wanderer or a cat chaser. There are however sliding privacy screens which would contain all but the most enthusiastic escapees. The beautiful village centre is a ten minute walk away, with good dog-friendly pubs, friendly locals, fantastic bakery and two Coop's. Easy access to lots of great walks. We did The Waterfall Trails, Ingleborough, White Scar Caves(not dog friendly) and Malham Cove(a short drive away). We would have no hesitation in recommending Coach House Cottage and will definitely be returning.

The first impression of Hudson was WOW!
This was beautiful and well appointed. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. We tried very hard to get the TV to work but it didnât. All it did was buffer. The WiFi signal was very weak and kept dropping out for our phones too. We spent time looking at leaflets on places to go, then realised they hadnât been updated since 2018. We couldnât get the info on our phones to follow them up. The sitting room was upstairs and was comfortable. Apart from the sharp nail that stuck up through a dining room chair. I did tell the maintenance man about it. We were told there was a washing machine we could use. We hunted! Eventually our neighbour form Bilboa showed us where it was. It is located in a shipping container in a fenced area that looked locked. It really needed to be made clear in the information book where it was. I had phoned in advance about using the washing machine and was told it was in the annex! Likewise it would be good to know how the hob worked. It should have been stated in the information folder. It took ages to work it out. We love the location. The grounds are amazing and it is well located for the Lake District and the West Coast. Places to eat would include The Fleece, The Applestore, Daisy Clough Nurseries and The Barn. Amazing ice-cream at The Barn, one scoop is huge!

On arrival I would suggest a map of the site be available at reception as it took a while finding the Lodge.
Also, having to walk to the lodge to pick up the key and the fob needed to gain access with car was a pain. The lodge was clean and the welcoming basket was a nice touch. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable however, the 2nd bedroom had a matress which was smaller than the base and not to comfortable. The recliner couch looked good on photo's (home from home), but wasn't comfy at all. The back was loose and to far back when upright. I felt like turning it up end to tighten any loose bolt's as I have done with my own. There was an upright vacumm which was empty on first sight but wasn't picking up. I took a closer look and found the pipe and filters totally blocked. I cleared it and washed the filters, although not the best it did pick up. Our stay was relaxing and the weather was good and hot which meant the balcony was very well used and enjoyed. The view of the lake was very nice. It would have been good to have the use of a cantilver umbrella as the deck was in full sun from midday until sunset, also a couple of fans would have given some relief from the heat indoors. These additions would have made are stay perfect. All in all we had a good stay, liked the site with all amenities close by. We would recommend this lodge.

Property was lovely and clean.
However we encountered an issue with the oven which tripped the electrics. This has obviously been an ongoing issue as there was a sign advising not to use certain appliances at the same time as it would trip. As a consequence we could not cook any food. The owner reimbursed us for the cost of a takeaway. However the location meant we had to make unnecessary trips out as a family at additional cost as there wasnât anything nearby to eat. Weâd also purchased food to be cooked in the oven which was frozen and that had to be thrown away as we hadnât brought anything suitable to transport it home. Additional unnecessary cost and we were refunded £34 for one takeaway. We also had to have our stay interrupted by the maintenance team coming to measure for a new oven , appreciate they need to do this in order to fix it but it didnât help us feel settled and relaxed. Really disappointed as we had to completely change our plans and go out when the intention was to stay in and not travel (which I do for a living hence needing the break). Lodge and location are lovely, shame about the issue we encountered letting it down.
