What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Clewlow - Verified booking
This was the worst holiday cottage we have ever rented in 30 years. The house is dirty, from the cobweb and resident spider on the right as you enter the rear door, to the cobwebs and dust in bedrooms and a spider suspended from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. The windows and surrounds have not been cleaned in years and the front door and white surrounds makes the building look as it has been abandoned. The internal doors are highly sprung and it was not possible to keep them open. A sure health and safety hazard if small hands were to be trapped. I myself have returned home with bruises on both arms when the doors have closed heavily on me after opening, and then springing shut. The doors into the twin bed room are almost impossible to open, they are so tightly sprung. The whole house smelt damp and musty and this was compounded by the inability to open any of the widows. They all appear to be locked, and when you pull down the secondary glazing panes the cobwebs and dust behind have been there for a very long period. Having scented plugs in some sockets does not help and in the downstairs bedroom there is a dehumidifier that was left running indicating some sort of problem with damp/mould but no note to indicate what.

The spiral staircase is VERY steep and narrow making it impossible to use them without brushing against the curtain rail which fell off twice (I have now adjusted one of the brackets making it more secure).
There are 2 light switches by the front door, neither of which actually switched on a light. There is a picture frame on the dresser on the far left of the lounge with instructions on how to switch on the light in the middle of the room - this light is very dim. A floor lamp in one corner doesnât work (there is a bulb missing) and another lamp by the table can only be aimed downwards so doesnât illuminate the room. In the kitchen, the lamp in the cooker hood doesnât work making it difficult to make use the touch-controls on the hob. Upstairs one of the bedroom lights doesnât work. The cottage is right on a busy road so it is noisy and difficult to exit with a dog and lock the door behind you with enormous lorries thundering past. There was no welcome pack - not even any milk - and no condiments in the cruet. Despite all this we enjoyed our holiday with good walks nearby

We stayed at your Sweffling Hall site last week with friends who where in the cuckoo and we were in the Swift and I must say our first Glamping encounter did not disappoint. The accommodation was excellent. We were so impressed with the quality of furniture, beds, towels, cleanliness of bedding and everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. It’s was fantastic.I also was impressed with Sandra who welcomed us on site. She was in constant contact throughout or week and making sure we were enjoying our experience. There was a small incident with another tent who had not kept their dogs on the lead which led to my friends dog cutting their paw however Sandra dealt with it straight away and we were grateful. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you

Lovely cottage, but .
.. Not very clean. No firelighters or matches as stated, no salt/pepper. Previous visitors empty condiments still in cupboard. Storage heating inadequate for time of year, & settings were locked so we couldn't turn it on or up. Cutlery, glasses & pans all needed washing on arrival, and very cold so not welcoming. Freezer iced up with previous visitors left-overs still inside. The seal on the oven had all come away & hanging loose. Only one very tiny bin in kitchen & no recycling bin or bags as stated, despite being asked to separate ordinary rubbish from recycling. Once we cleaned up, shopped & bought firewood we had a lovely cosy stay, but felt no effort had been made to ensure this.

Ideal for a stay in Hoxne, where my parents lived for some thirty years and where I still have many friends.
Cottage is lovely, well equipped with every device/utensil/ one might need, and the outside verandah is an ideal place to sit outside. Only concern is the spiral staircase - this might be difficult for less mobile people. We had a few very minor problems - the blinds in the bedrooms are difficult to lower and return and the rail in the second bedroom is loose in the wall. I would be happy for you to publish the following feedback: "A lovely small cottage in the beautiful and friendly village of Hoxne. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very private. Spiral staircase might be difficult for the less mobile, but strongly recommended."
