  It truly surpassed our expectations

  We were a group of five couples of friends. From pictures, we knew that we would be living for a few days in superb surroundings, but our stay surpassed our expectations. The ground floor has a large living space with a dining area, a comfortable living area with a beautiful fireplace, and a kitchen. The five spacious bedrooms are all beautifully appointed and each with its own special charm. They are easily accessible with an elevator, but also by a narrow spiral stone staircase that sent us back in time. The special quality of this residence is the palpable sense of history it conveys to its occupants... The park is magnificent, with a large pond reflecting the noble façade of the château, and it has a tennis court well hidden behind hedges. The whole place displays the unerring sense of taste of the people who created it. The reception and the service we got during our stay were as remarkable as the surroundings. On our last day, the owner, who had arrived at the château the evening before, made a point of coming to see us and we had a very pleasant conversation before our departure. This stay was by far the best experience I ever had with a vacation rental. I was so enthusiastic about it that I booked another stay, this time to show it to members of my family.

  WOW!

  A quite magnificent place to stay - a stunning property, painstakingly restored, luxuriously appointed, with delightful care from Danielle and Corinne, in a fascinating and beautiful area, so easily reached from Cherbourg. Don't miss the tour of the main chateau, offered by the charming descendant of Alexis de Tocqueville and his family. We, a party of four couples, stayed for a week leading up to a 60th birthday, which we celebrated with a meal cooked and served in the splendid main room.by a local chef - wonderful. All the bedrooms are superbly decorated and furnished, the bathrooms chic and modern. A 3-person lift serves the three bedroom floors - it's 24 spiral stone stairs for each storey, so you get fit (and/or dizzy!) if you use the steps! Grounds are extensive and include a superb tennis court. Four bikes available to borrow. Being an old, stone building, its prime focus is inside - don't expect indoor/outdoor living, though there are chairs and a table for eating outside.

  Normandy simply did not disappoint!

  Our stay at your charming Château was like being in a 17th century fairy tale. It became so much more real and fascinating when we realized that we were in the midst of true greatness at the home of Alexis de Tocqueville!
