  I had the most delightful stay at this charming three-bedroom cottage in Whitby. First and foremost, the location is amazing. The balcony provides stunning panoramic views of Whitby Harbour – from the sea and both piers on the left, all the way around past the Abbey, to the bustling town on the right. The location of the cottage allows for easy exploration of Whitby, as it's within walking distance of most attractions. I thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the town and its enchanting back alleys. I'm always stumbling upon new and intriguing places I haven't seen before. Inside, the cottage is cosy, well-equipped and heated well, ensuring a comfortable stay. The charm of this place is amplified by its original features, giving it a unique character. Now, I must mention the quaint challenge of navigating steep stairs and steps around the cottage – a testament to its historical roots. It may be challenging for some. However, for me, it only added to the overall charm, reminiscent of the authentic feel of old cottages and it's what to expect in old buildings. Parking, though not directly outside due to the narrow one-way street, is conveniently solved with the provided permit for nearby parking. A small inconvenience easily overshadowed by the location and amazing views! Thank you for providing such a wonderful retreat.

  We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at Bay View Cottage near Robin Hood’s Bay.

  The setting is absolutely beautiful and the views are just incredible! The cottage is cosy, homely and very well equipped. It was also immaculately clean. There was always plenty of hot water available and the heating worked very efficiently. The kitchen has all the things you need to prepare and cook. The children also loved the climbing frame and slide in the lovely garden area behind the properties. The courtyard is very pretty and full of sun in the morning. It is also very spacious for parking cars and unloading luggage straight in through the kitchen door. There was no lugging of heavy items or boxes for any distance! The gorgeous beaches and pretty villages are a short drive from the cottage, though walkable for those who perhaps want to do so with dogs and without little ones. Our dog also felt very at home! Aldi and Sainsbury’s are an easy ten minute drive away. We absolutely loved our stay here and we will be back to enjoy more of the beautiful Yorkshire coast.   Lovely comfortable beds, good white goods in kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, fridge and freezer), good range of crockery, cutlery and pans.

  Smart TV with ability for prime, Netflix, but sometimes TV unresponsive to remote control which was frustrating. Wi-Fi great and I managed to work remotely which was a great help. Great log burner and thank you for complementary wood and coal, a life saver as some of the room heaters didn’t work properly (the one in the super king room didn’t come on at all, the upstairs bathroom one didn’t work at all, the one in the king room was inconsistent,either cool or bakingly hot!) Towels very fluffy but bedding, although comfortable didn’t feel particularly freshly laundered. Disappointing that parking was not directly outside the property, although only a short walk behind on a main road. Owners very responsive to questions, although I felt they were irritated in their response when I asked if there was the option for a change of bedding for the super king (as it didn’t smell very fresh).

  We love this cottage, have stayed twice now and have rebooked for next year. It’s a no frills, practical, warm, clean cottage with everything you need and just a short stroll along the estuary to the town and beaches.The beds are comfortable, bedding and towels are good quality and there is a well equipped kitchen. There are throws to put on the sofa if you have a pet, and dog bowls are provided. There are also beach toys for children. The cottage does involve steps so not good if you have any mobility issues and parking is a gamble on the road but it is free parking if you manage to find a space, which is a bonus! Around the corner is a fabulous fruit/veg wholesalers who also sell to the public, it was also brilliant for the day to day bits we needed, milk, bread, eggs etc.

  Bayview Cottage is spacious, tidy and we were appreciative of an efficient boiler.

  We loved the location. The sitting room layout is not particularly cosy with the sofas all around the edge of the room. It took us a while to find the house book and information, in a recessed draw under the sitting room table. Information not brilliant, and looking a bit grubby. No instruction booklets for e.g. The induction hob, microwave. We are not used to the former, and had to ask one of the guests in Byre to assist. No house books to browse/read, limited games. We left a jigsaw. Two grouses: the mattress on the main bed is pretty awful ( and the bottom sheet was too small for it.) The frying pan was dirty, and it took me a while to clean it, fit for use. We loved the area, new to us, and may well return. Jeremy Boyes
