  We had a great time at Glebe House.

  It is large and spacious for 6, but still has a very homely feel. We stayed there primarily to attend a wedding at the Dalton Pump House which is just a short walk away… as is the excellent Fox and Tree pub - albeit in the opposite direction! We stayed on and took the opportunity to use it as a base to explore the many places a short drive away - including Durham, Beamish Museum, Newcastle, Tynemouth Market… the list goes on! …And it’s always nice to jump in the hot tub to discuss the days events on your return. Richard and Denise are excellent hosts - giving you space and privacy, but always happy to have a quick chat when you set off on your days adventure. We highly recommend Glebe House for a stay in this area.

  Just back from long weekend at Strathmore in Wooler. Absolutely fantastic cottage, beautifully decorated and furnished, real home from home, everything you could possibly need and more for your stay. Beautiful welcome hamper and fresh home made scones and a lovely touch of personalised bars of chocolate for each of the children. Well stocked cupboard full of toys and games for children of all ages. Lovely garden with large swing and bonus of a hot tub. Whole family had a brilliant time, would highly recommend it. Owner of cottage was lovely, she made a courtesy call to make sure everything was OK and to just ring her if there were any issues. Which there certainly wasn’t, no complaints at all. Definitely worth 5 stars.

  Strathmore was an excellent property for a large family gathering. There was plenty of room to move about without feeling you are on top of each other. The house was well equipped to make it a very comfortable stay for both adults and children. Lots of things to do in the area. The garden was enclosed which is great for young children and our family dog. Charming and very homely house with everything you need! The welcome basket was great and we really enjoyed sampling a lot of local produce. Our grandchildren were delighted with the chocolate bars which had their own names on. We also had a lovely home made cake which was delicious and was scoffed at the first opportunity. The bread was also delicious!

  We stayed in this accommodation for 3 nights and it just felt like home. When we arrived we found 2 welcome baskets, one for ourselves and one for the dogs. It was clear a lot of thought had gone into the baskets and beds were also supplied for the dogs. The house itself was immaculate and furnished beautifully. There is a large hot tub which was clearly well maintained and located in a beautiful garden. Not long after our arrival we were contacted by the owner to ask if everything was okay and if we needed anything to ring her directly. We would not hesitate to return to this property it is definitely 5*.

  Absolutely fabulous cottage, arrived just after dark, was so nice to arrive and see lights on made it feel so homely and welcoming. Welcome basket was incredible, gorgeous products to choose from, fresh scones and the personalised chocolates for the children was such a lovely thoughtful touch. Couldn’t pick just one thing that I liked best as everything was amazing, beautifully furnished, very well equipped, everything though about to make it a home from home. Fantastic range of toys and games which went down a storm with four little ones. Just overall fantastic cottage with the bonus of a hot tub.
