  Location was okay and the cleanliness was good. On the photos it clearly shows a fridge freezer however the properly only has a very small fridge so I feel the photos should be updated because we stayed for Christmas and I took all my Christmas food for 6 people and when I arrived to find the photos were misleading as there was no fridge freezer I actually didn’t have enough fridge space to put all my food away so it cost me money when I had to throw away food that needed to be stored in a fridge but wouldn’t fit in. I immediately contacted Host and Stay with my issues and there was no offer off resolution. There was only one key which made it difficult if we didn’t all want to go out together, one of the bedrooms didn’t have curtains so the light flooded in early morning and the tv was a Samsung brand which only had Samsung channels not proper freeview as advertised. I have stayed in Host and Stay properties many times at Christmas and there has always been at least a Christmas tree and I had children with me so this was very disappointing but all of my issues I did raise but they weren’t dealt with.   The location was very central (no on site parking however) The beds were comfortable and the bed linen clean. The top bedroom has blackout blinds and is quiet. The cleanliness was poor. As you walked up the garden, it was overgrown, there was a plant pot full of cigarette ends, the front door itself was filthy. There was lots of post and flyers behind the door. On the surface it appeared clean but the floor in the lounge and kitchen (wooden) was very dirty. There was no toilet roll, no bin bags. The complimentary biscuits were out of date. The house felt cool. We could not find any instructions on how to use heating or the hob. The hob is induction and we never got to use it at all it was completely baffling. There was no hand wash in the 2 bathrooms. The yard was dirty, there outside furniture was dirty. Every window has bird poo on. Windowsills were dusty. Cobwebs in corners. Rotting dead bird in the front garden Empty coffee jar on the outside furniture full of cigarettes end.

  Super standard of accommodation with 2 bathrooms, comfy beds and excellent kitchen. Good TV with Netflix too. Nice seating area, safe for dogs and young children. Close to town. WiFi excellent. 63 steps from the car to the top floor kitchen was hard. The parking space and ability to turn or line up was difficult but it did take a large 4x4 OK. Broomfield Terrace is a narrow pain of a road. The details were economical with details of parking availability on Booking.com. It only said free and no reservation required. It wasn't until the joining instructions that it was clear there was only one space but a card system with free parking for 4 days on streets 5 minutes walk away up a steep hill was the best offer. With the size of the house 2 cars coming must be common? Finally, Host and Stay bombard with messages about things local which probably can be researched on Google and are a bit threatening if you don't do things right like overstay the 10am kick out time for example.

  Had a nice stay here, property was clean inside and nicely furnished. Beds really comfy and there is some outside space with seating. Location is easily walkable to harbour and the abbey. House is upside down in layout and kitchen/lounge is on the top floor, there is no storage space in the kitchen, but that was ok for a few days, you might have issues if you stayed longer. There are more than a "few" steps to the property as advertised, there are quite a lot and if you have mobility issues then dont stay here. The car parking space is also not great, it is very very small, the actual spot is opposite where have bins chained to the wall so trying to swing around to get in without hitting the strangely placed columns is near impossible. Anything bigger than a fiesta and you'll need to find some other parking. Be aware of Host and Stay, frustrating that after payment they demand more money for security deposits or insurance policies and then they keep £10 for an admin fee!

  We had an absolutely incredible stay at Dale’s property. From the moment we booked, everything was seamless and exceeded our expectations. Communication with Charlie was prompt, friendly, and incredibly efficient, making the entire process stress-free and straightforward. The space itself was immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed, creating an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Every detail was carefully curated to ensure comfort and convenience. The location was idyllic! Overall, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Charlie and Dale went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and we can’t recommend them or their property highly enough.
