  Awful property and owners.

  Don’t believe the reviews Countless issues with the property, owners are neglectful and unhelpful. Fridge is broken, hot water keeps running out. Downstairs basement/ bathroom reeks of urine. Basement full of spiders and attic windows are filled with red ants that came onto the beds all weekend. Cinema room has no sound, and the house was full of dust. Upon pointing out these issues to Andrea, she then accused us of damaging the property after we left which was a complete lie. Also accusing us of making too much noise when it was just a girls weekend and none of us even drink alcohol. She also accused us of not leaving the property clean, when we’d cleaned all weekend and the house was more clean when we left. We had to hoover the spiders, cobwebs and dust all weekend. Not happy at all about being accused of something we’ve not done. awful scare tactics from the owners to try to scare us into not taking the complaint further, rather than try to address the issues & take responsibility. Neither Owners were available all weekend when needed, phones kept going to voicemail or getting back to use hours later. So unprofessional and unhelpful. Not at all as advertised.

  The house is beautiful, really big bedrooms and we loved the open plan kitchen, and walk through lounge area.

  The house is warm and cozy and we loved the wood burner. Cinema room was well used and our son loved the basement bedroom! The views from the front of the house are amazing and it is such a beautiful area. Lovely walks from the door. Comms before and during our stay were great. A couple of minor niggles including two of the kitchen drawers (and some utensils) needed cleaning, but the rest of the house was immaculate and we had everything we needed, and more. There was a lovely arrival pack, with milk and a bottle of wine waiting in the fridge. If there had been more of us I think that there might have been pressure on the showers (two of the showers are in ensuite bathrooms, and only one is accessible to all in the huge family bathroom), and more (larger) pans might be needed for bigger groups. We had a fantastic holiday here, and want to return for a longer stay, with more family members, as soon as we can (we were a small immediate family group, because of CV19 restrictions).

  We booked a weekend stay for a joint birthday and Father’s Day with 13 family members.

  Communication was great and we were welcomed on arrival. The views from the property were absolutely stunning and the bedroom layout of the property was great for large gatherings. Beds were all comfortable and the decor in the bedroom next to the cinema room was lovely! There are just a couple of things that made me not give the property a 10/10. The property on the inside overall is looking very tired. There were holes in the bedroom curtains, the living room sofas were very worn and not enough seating for all of us so we had to split ourselves between kitchen and living room. The cutlery draw is missing a pizza cutter. On arrival there was a fridge that was leaking water and a towel had been put down but we did have use of another fridge thankfully. These things didn’t put me off staying, but I think if sorted, it would then be well worth the money spent. It was a lovely stay and the location is beautiful, you won’t be disappointed!

  Myself, my husband and our three children arrived at Kingfisher Cottage after a very last minute booking.

  Emma had very kindly left us all some treats to cheer up after hearing about our previous holiday plans that got cancelled, which we all thought was a really lovely gesture. The cottage itself is absolutely gorgeous, literally couldn't fault any part of it! I think everything had been thought of and more. Everything was so comfortable, really is a home from home. The river out the front is beautiful, visited often by a heron & a friendly pair of ducks who got our attention by tapping their beaks on the front door! The town of Holmfirth is really lovely, there's many shops, eateries etc to cater to everyone's needs. We ventured out to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside which never disappoints. After what was a really stressful start to our family holiday turned into a really lovely week which we were all sad to leave. We would definitely recommend Kingfisher Cottage to anyone.

  Really comfortable, modernised cottage over 3 levels.

  We did a lot of cooking (son has serious food allergies so eating out can be a problem) and the kitchen was amazingly well equipped. Set in a quiet spot beside a lovely river. You can’t park beside the cottage but we always found a spot nearby. We went with two older teenagers so that wasn’t a problem. Can’t recommend the cottage enough. There’s a lovely Victorian park just along the road near Huddersfield (Beaumont Park). We went down to Buxton and then Matlock Bath to ride the Heights of Abraham cable car. Matlock Bath was a great find, a beautiful ‘seaside’ town no where near the sea. Never been to the area before and I can highly recommend Holmfirth - lovely shops, cafes and bars. It also helped that our week was in the middle of a heatwave!
