What our customers say about their holidays

The Orchard was a super place for our annual family get together.
Spacious and well equipped. The open plan kitchen / diner / lounge worked well, especially when the bi-fold doors were open, extending the space into the terrace / garden. The pictures are very accurate, but it is even nicer when you are there! The cream tea welcome gift was a lovely surprise, and Pauline and Nicola were a joy to deal with. Housekeeping deposit was returned very promptly. Crantock was a perfect village for us. A well stocked village shop (no longer Londis) meant we only had to pop across the road to stock up, and open 8am to 8pm every day, including Sunday and Bank Holiday! The Jam Jar is good for cakes, ice cream and evening pizzas, though note, no take away in peak season & no bookings taken. There are two character pubs, which serve food and take bookings, but book early. The beach is only a 10 minute walk and, as the modest car parks fill up quickly, the beach is not crowded. Big Green Surf School stocks a wide range of surf/paddle/body boards, though sadly the surf was not great the week we were there. Further afield you can walk to Newquay in under an hour, though check the tide times as the bridge is covered at high tide and the alternative is an extra mile walk upstream, or downstream to the ferry. L George Butchers, a five minute drive to St Newlyn East, is well worth the trip for their gorgeous barbeque meats, and they have a deli and sell bread, buns, croissants, pain au chocolate, etc. They normally visit Crantock on a Wednesday in their mobile shop, but they didnât whilst we were there. All in all, a great house in a great location! Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Almost don't want to tell anyone about this little treasure!
Everything about the Orchard was perfect. Crantock beach was just under ten minutes away so a trolley loaded up with our beach gear was a great plan - no queuing to get into the car park either! There are two pubs, a wonderful little place called the Jam Jar where you can get hot drinks and pastries by day, and in the evening pop in for a drink too. There is a little shop literally just on your doorstep where not only does the smell of fresh Cornish pasties beckons you in of a morning, but also where you can pretty much purchase anything you may need. There is also a quaint little bus stop just opposite to take you to Newquay should you wish to go there. Pauline, the Manager helpfully answered a small query via text/a call, and the Owner Nicola, sent a lovely welcoming email prior to our stay to give details on the property and the surrounding area. Enjoy your stay!

What a fabulous stay at The Orchard.
Absolutely everything we could've wished for and more. 6 adults, 1 two year old and a dog. My mom has mobility issues so groundfloor bedroom and bathroom was a must, only thing the bathroom was a bath with shower over and not a walk in shower, not a problem for my mom though. Lovely bedrooms, the pressure on shower in family bathroom wasn't very good, but they just used the one in the main bedroom, again not an issue for us. Kitchen was amazing with evertyhing you could possibly need. Only thing we found was the seating was a bit low for my mom, but we brought a chair in from outside and she was happy. The garden is fully enclosed and safe for both a toddler and a dog, and both would have tried to escape if they could!!! The village is perfect, shop close at hand, two pubs and a 15 min walk to the beach, what else could you ask for. had a great week, we will be back.

Excellent cottage.
What I did find that was different to other cottages was the communication from the owners and property manager. I was contacted with very usefull info from both the owner and the property manager in the days leading up to our trip down to Cornwall. They have a purpose made APP dedicated to the cottage and the beautiful village of Crantock with info on places to visit - a real gem of an idea. The cottage itself is prestine and loved every aspect of it. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs as well. The cottage is literally 2 mins walk to 2 pubs and a lovely cafe - all of these are not to be missed out. The amazing Crantock beach is only around 10 mins to walk to as well. I could go on for ever about this property and village. You won't be dissapointed at all. 5 star holiday cottage :)

We loved our stay at The Orchard and could definitely recommend it if you are looking for a large centrally located house in Crantock.
The house suited us perfectly as it has four good sized bedrooms with 3 bathroom/shower rooms and a downstairs loo. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and is well equipped with plenty of crockery, pots and pans etc. The delicious scones in the welcome pack were very much appreciated as were the fresh flowers. A lovely touch we thought. There were also books and games and a table tennis table to keep you occupied. We spent most of the time in the very large kitchen/lounge/dining area but the separate lounge with TV is a very useful and comfortable space too. The garden is large and secure for the dogs. All in all the house is beautiful and the location perfect for its closeness to the village and beach. We canât fault it in any way. We would love to have another stay here.
