What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Holdcroft - Verified booking
Appreciate it was an old gate house lodge but every room had a small family of cellar spiders living in it, these do not appear overnight, for example 6 x 5cm ones in one bedroom alone, which was fun trying to explain to the 6yr old it was OK to sleep in there. I'd suggest the property had not been "properly" cleaned for a while. The gardens were overgrown and untidy I had to clear up all the leaves before we could use the patio or bbq area. It was obvious no prep had been done before our arrival. But hey the gardener turned up on the last day around 830ish to clean it all and cut it back and lawns etc during our usage time not changeover which was a surprise whilst standing in my pants getting ready looking out the bug full length window. Oddly zero property information at the lodge just a laminated sign on the bed telling you to remove bedding at end of stay, no information on hot tub instructions or usage, not sure if the hot tub was serviced with chemicals during the stay, something I check after each use at home, bit odd for a week. All above a shame really otherwise it would have been perfect. Lovely place and location and well equipped.

An extremely disappointing property, given the price. It seems in need of some TLC, and the attention to cleaning needs improving; there were masses of cobwebs and spiders, especially noticeable if one moved any furniture. We never even considered using the hot tub! Also there were no instructions, for anything! The internet is shocking, very, very slow and intermittent; I notice that the property description on the site now highlights that this is slow (which I'm sure it didn't when I booked), but it is virtually non existent. The images on the site portray a light and airy environment; in truth it is dark and hemmed in. The dense foliage, whilst providing noise dampening from the main road, does mean that it is not possible to even see what the weather is doing (other than rain). Also given that the two patio door windows in the lounge are single glazed, I wouldn't fancy being here in winter. Overall the property wasn't what I would call cosy or comfortable, especially the sagging main bed!

WOW!!!
The view from this property is to die for and if you like peace and quite this is the place for you. We have just spent 5 nights here and did not want to leave. After we booked it we wondered if it was going to be big enough but it is bigger than it looks in the pictures and ideal for two people. The Magpies nest is so well designed with a large double bed, comfortable armchairs, extending table, kitchen area and a good size shower/toilet. The doors open onto a good size decking with chairs and table. When you come down the steps onto the patio there is another table and chairs, bbq and a great hot tub, unfortunately we only used it twice (because of the Welsh weather). Thankyou so much Owen and lola, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and the property and the views, are beautiful

The location is stunning and has great beach access.
Fantastic views! The flat had everything we needed. The kitchen is well equipped and was very clean. The bathroom is modern and was very clean. Plenty of towels. The roof in the living room leaked when it rained not only during the storm. The carpet in the dining area is in need of cleaning/replacing The hot tub was great especially at night with clear skies. Temperature was controlled by the owner and it was on the cool side. Both the double mattresses are in need of replacing. It was lovely to hear the sea at night when going to sleep and on waking! The steps up to the flat can be slippy when wet and need grip plates on them. We had a great time with local walks and time on the beach/painting from the patio. Caernarfon airport is great for lunch or coffee. Airport museum good to!

Perfect Sheppard's Hut Getaway for two.
We spent our anniversary weekend at this amazing Sheppard's Hut in North Wales, and it was amazing. The Hut itself was beautifully decorated and had everything you could need for a cozy and comfortable stay, plus the owners were so lovely and helpful - they really made us feel welcome. The welcome bottle of Prosseco was a nice touch. The outdoor space was completely private and we had incredibly views - perfect for enjoying morning cuppa surrounded by nature. We spent ages in the evening in the hot tub or just sat outside as the weather was lovely. Overall it was the perfect romantic escape for our anniversary, we can't wait to come back again
