What our customers say about their holidays

The fresh eggs and homemade cake were a lovely surprise on arrival and were enjoyed by all throughout the week.
The venue offered a tranquil relaxing stay. The hot tub was a keen favourite for everyone. The stars were amazing on a clear night. The house was clean and cosy. The kitchen was a great place to gather, enjoying home cooked food and conversation, on a large beautifully crafted wooden table, although the table isn't flat, making eating and serving up a little precarious at times. Generally a well equipped kitchen, although it was ashame the aga was decommissioned, so out of use. A couple of things would have made cooking for a large party a little easier, sharpened knives, the few remaining are very blunt and more of them, a few smaller sized frying pans.. Otherwise pretty good collection of pots and pans. The property advised that you are provided with bed linen and towels, so we didn't bring anything. The bed linen was fine, but we only had 6 towels for 11 people for the week, which was not enough. Especially as you are also using them for the hot tub, you were left trying to dry off with damp wet towels. The wood burner in the living is a homely touch, but unfortunately is missing the seal, making the room smokey. It also meant that it burnt it's way through the wood at a fair pace. Hopefully this will get fixed for the winter. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend.

An absolutely luxurious and fully equipped practically brand-new Shepherd's Hut (lucky shepherd!
) The underfloor heating and wood burning stove, combined with full insulation, was more than adequate to heat the hut, in cool but not freezing conditions. The golf buggy to transport luggage from the car was a fun novelty. Super comfortable bed, and lovely welcome basket with apple juice, eggs and honey all from Peter and Lisa at Little Silver House, and other goodies too (a bottle of wine, cheese scones, coffee, shortbread) Amazon echo a really nice touch..instant music on request. Excellent shower in the tiny but well designed bathroom, and the hot tub, of which we made full use morning and evening, was wonderful, especially in the dark under the stars. Lots of info about the surrounding area; a very pleasant walk up to the pub in High Bickington, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The excellent looking village shop closes at 1pm on Saturday, by the way. All in all, a wonderful cosy weekend. Thank you Peter and Lisa

The photos of the hut do not do it justice.
A great deal of care and thought has obviously gone into the set up and the results are amazing. The huts are nicely secluded on a hill side with amazing views something shared with the hot tub. Inside the hut is a cosy area just perfect for two, it is well laid out and comes with all you would need for a break. The need to use a golf cart is a surprise but when you get to the hut you can understand why and to have cars being used would ruin the tranquil setting, it was however a big challenging with the amount of rain. The host also provide the most amazing welcome basket full of local treats and a very comprehensive guide book to the local area. If you want a quiet relaxing break in beautiful surroundings then this is definitely the place to go.

Little Silver Leaf was absolutely beautiful.
We were greeted by Peter who was so friendly, he showed us round and made sure we were comfortable. The hut itself was spotless, there was everything we could ever needed inside the hut, the owners are very thoughtful and leave an amazing gift basket on arrival which was such a bonus. The hot tub was lovely and clean and very relaxing especially at night watching the stars. Little silver is very quiet and peaceful with views of the river, Old railway and fields with cattle. The owners provide a guide which is extremely useful and very well written, its very informative about the local area and the best pubs/ restaurants. We absolutely loved celebrating my partners 30th bday here and hope to be back soon.

Hazel barn exceeded our expectations.
The cottage was spacious and very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything we could have asked for, the stair gates were perfect for our party as we had our grandson of 21months old with us. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome basket of tea makings and a lovely cake which was an instant hit. The location was remote but just what we wanted away from the hustle and bustle. The hot tub was a hit too, and was checked daily to maintain hygiene and safety. We had a couple of small issues that needed to be dealt with and these were handled quickly and efficiently once raised with the owner. We would return in a heart beat and highly recommend this cottage for large group or family holidays.
