What our customers say about their holidays

Rudbaxton Water is a lovely property and the owners were very welcoming and helpful and responded promptly and positively before and during our stay.
We certainly felt the 'wow' factor when we arrived at the house, which is very aesthetically pleasing, has an attractive decor and rooms that are light and airy. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and the furnishings are homely and comfortable and there are a number of well thought out stair\safety gates. There is plenty of space (indoors and outdoors) and this was perfect for our large family group made up of 4 adults, 5 children (2 - 17 yrs old) and two dogs. The kitchen and utility area are very well equipped with modern quality appliances and we felt the coffee maker was a real bonus! It was wonderful to relax on the patio and spend time in the hot tub (even on cloudy days) and it was reassuring to see it being maintained on a daily basis by the hosts themselves. The regular cleaning visits were always conveniently timed to suit us and were not at all intrusive. The garden and its surroundings are very pleasant and peaceful and it was lovely to observe lots of different little birds going back and forth from the feeders carefully dotted around. As the property is not set too close to neighbours it was also comforting that the children were able to let off steam without causing too much disturbance to others! We feel that Rudbaxton Water is well positioned to visit beautiful beaches, castles and nearby towns. We especially enjoyed a visit to Narberth which has many interesting shops and a number of different eating places. Thank you Chloe and Simon for all the thoughtful extras you provided - even for our furry friends - the doggy blankets, bowls and treats etc were all very much appreciated and so were all the home staples made available which went a long way to enhance our stay. We sincerely look forward to visiting your lovely holiday home again. Marie, Ron and Family xx

We arrived early at the property due to a problem with our car.
The chap cleaning the house invited us to stay on the drive whilst we waited for the AA. We were still waiting for assistance when the house cleaning was completed and the same chap told us to go into the house and was most helpful in showing us where everything was. We have had a great holiday and would say that the house is basic with a few extras. Good points: clean beds, clean towels, utility room with dehumidifier. Nice welcoming touches -tea, coffee, milk cake, hot tub, juke box, great sized garden, plenty of crockery & cutlery, good dishwasher, good range of sleeping arrangements, plenty of parking space and a lovely clean barbecue. Areas we felt could have been better: Kitchen needs rethinking - fridge too small for a family of 12, not all utensils/crockery clean. A mish-mash of utensils (3 veg peelers none of which were any good for example). No storage space for food. The house is in need of some TLC - damp walls in lounge and dining room and the handles/locks on bathroom doors need attention. The owners clearly responds to positive feedback and we can see that the house has great potential for further development. A good base for exploring Pembrokeshire and we enjoyed our stay.

In many ways the property was excellent but there were a number of irritations and concerns.
The key safe was not where we were told that it would be. It was on a fence post thirty metres away and the number to ring for advice was no longer the current caretaker. No new number was available. The kitchen was well equipped but there were no kitchen scissors. It was good to have two high chairs but since small children are likely to wander under the huge dining table for an adventure, it would have been helpful if the underside of that table did not have wood screws projecting down an inch or so. The stairgates were badly fitted and dangerous. It would have been helpful to know that in the field adjacent to the back garden the neighbours practiced car racing of some sort. .It made the garden an unsafe place to be whilst this was happening. There was no dishcloth or dishwasher tablets and the tea-towels that were provided appeared to be unlaundered. I would not want to try and iron the enormous tablecloth that was on the dining table but it seemed that nobody else wanted to either. It looked most unsightly. I don't mind whether you publish these comments or not. It is more important to rectify the matters.

The place was very clean and we really like the decor.
Our hosts Simon and Chloe were very helpful and friendly. They got in contact with us on the day and gave us instructions on how to get into the property. They also gave us recommendations via WhatsApp. The property was even dog friendly (gates around in the garden to fence the dog within the property, not a lot of properties we have been to have done this. The hosts also left us some dog treats and our dog really appreciated this. On arrival, there were some goodies waiting for us, things like beer and crisps and some chocolates, milk, butter, and crumpets. The property has plenty of other things included our favorite was a sage coffee machine with beans already in the grinder and of course the ready-to-use hot tub. They also had plenty of board games to play. It was great to have suites in three of the rooms and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. Towels were also available. I would 100% recommend it to a large family or friends visiting. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries like shampoo, soap, and toothpaste as it was not available but apart from that the stay was very comfortable.

Lovely spacious house, clean, comfortable and very well equipped.
The bedrooms are all a good size, thereâs a huge dining table and plenty of sofa space. The hot tub was lovely and very well maintained. We didnât use them but there are a variety of surf boards you could borrow and loads of games in the house. There are glorious views from 2nd and 3rd floors over Solva harbour. House is in a quiet cul de sac on the hill out of solva with a 5 minute walk down into the town, where there was lot's of places to eat and drink. There is easy access onto the costal paths meaning you can walk from the house to St Davidâs or Newgale but would recommend bus or taxi back Both the owner and the housekeeper were very helpful when a problem arose and did their best to sort it out as soon as possible. The only additional things we could think of to make the house even better was a smart speaker for music and adjusting the smart TVs so you could access Netflixâs eta for evening entertainment. Overall would thoroughly recommend Harmon vale as an excellent base for exploring north Pembrokeshire.
