What our customers say about their holidays

Glen Euchar House is set in an idyllic glen with the river Euchar flowing at the bottom of the garden.
It is secluded and tranquil; however Tesco deliver which certainly eases the stress after a long drive from Yorkshire. The kitchen is superbly designed and fully equipped; with the exception of possibly a couple of chopping boards; this is a minor niggle as I honestly thought that I had died and gone to kitchen heaven. Prepping food was a pleasure, the dishwasher was great too as was the washer. Drying was more of a chore and a tumble dryer would be appreciated due to the wet weather we encountered. Locally Oban is only 15 minutes drive away and you have Tesco, Aldi and Lidl to shop at. We did not eat out as I was far too busy cooking in that amazing kitchen!! If you intend going to Mull book in advance as we could not get on with the car; also if you wish to go dolphin watching book in advance too as we were disappointed not to be able to go. The leather suite in the lounge is beginning to look a little tired and the electric recliners did not work. It is still comfortable however and the chair reclines manually. The TV and surround sound are great. The WiFi is useable but only around 6Mbps so dont expect too much. Also the BT home Hub 4 needs updating as it does not cover the whole house with black spots with no signal. The master bedroom floor creaks alarmingly on occasion and going to the Loo in the middle of the night is not a quiet affair!! The hot tub is great with room for 4 in perfect comfort, like some aspects of the house it is looking a little tired cosmetically; however works fine and is luxurious! NB The hot tub is not close to the house and is 2 minutes walk across the lawn and down a few steps; which is not a problem; but would be better closer to the house in my opinion. Gordon (Estate Manager) was excellent and although about the estate daily was not intrusive on our tranquillity. In summary: Fab accommodation in a lovely Glen in Scotland. Totally recommended

We were VERY DISAPPOINTED.
The first thing to greet us when we entered the property was a hoover FULL of other peoples dirt. There was an unpleasant smell. There was grass and grit under rack on right hand side as you come in door. Dust on chairs in snug. Dust around both sofas, you could see the dust under living room sofa from standing in kitchen. The end cushion fell off the sofa and I was disgusted by what was under it. Chrome light switches were dirty from other peoples fingers. Windows were dirty. Dirty smear marks left from a dirty cloth on tv and wardrobes. Dust and food splatters on tiles beside internet and the socket for this was covered in dust. I had to clean the fridge and a cupboard before I put our food in it. There was no way I was going to use the microwave as it was filthy. There was quite a bit of oil spillage in one cupboard. Cutlery drawer has loads of crumbs in it. Food on door of cupboard under the sink.I Had to clean the kettle and toaster. I cleaned 2 of everything we were going to need and kept in on the work top and just used those. The cups were disgusting. I had to clean the bath and itâs just a matter of time before someone goes through it. The basin tap is very stiff we were worried it was going to break and the toilet roll holder is rusty. The bathroom and front bedroom really could be doing with a paint. We could not get normal to channels on the tv, the news and weather was for Cumbria not Perthshire. Th tv is high up on the wall and the sofa has no neck support so it is very uncomfortable to watch the tv. Also be careful when lighting the stove as the curtain is touching it

Stayed here in late September, the view is absolutely incredible, the hills look different every hour, if I owned this I would rent out where I live & stay here myself!
Bed was so comfortable.... We got home & my partner didn't sleep for three days because of how she perceived our bed to be so uncomfortable, shame we never made a note of the make of the mattress. The driveway up to the property is fine, you're told to go 10 mph, you don't need to rush so just go 10 mph. The property is closer than you think to two properties, next doors dog is absolutely no problem, she's a friendly little thing & will wait for you to tell her to come to you for a hello, she doesn't encroach unless encouraged. Never made it to the beach because the pathway was so overgrown, the sheep were munching through the weeds though. Hot Tub is in exactly the right spot & is a perfect way to end the day, only slight issue is the 10pm curfew for using it (if you think you'll use it after that time, they have it covered) log burner is nice & the sofa is comfy, the shower could be more powerful, but that is hardly a deal breaker. It's just a great place to stay to wind down & relax

A very comfortable and spacious house in a wonderful location - easy to get to Oban and the nearby countryside, yet away from the tourists in such very peaceful and green surroundings- there was no farm machinery/traffic noise.
Hot tub much appreciated. Gordon was very welcoming and the directions sent were easy to follow. I'd happily stay here again. 2 bathrooms was a bonus (I got my own shower upstairs as the only person under 5 foot 4 - that ceiling is rather low, but the downstairs shower is spacious and fits everybody) It would be useful to have some instructions for the oven (I had to google it to work out which knob was which) and TV/sound system took some working out. The wifi code is well hidden (but couldn't defeat our teenagers). The wifi coped with boys and husband all on their laptops - which I was impressed with given we were out in the countryside. The kitchen is well equipped but could do with some small side plates and a bread board/2nd bigger chopping board. This house came top in our family competition to find the best equipped kitchen in a holiday cottage - beating Jersey where we stayed last year by having a pizza cutter...

Fantastic week at the cottage with our family consisting of mum n dad, 11yr daughter, 8yr son, 4 month baby and grandad!
The pictures on the listing did not do it justice with itâs stunning location, extensive grounds and excellent facilities we really couldnât fault anything. Our familyâs favourite things were exploring down by the stream, eagle watching from the hot tub with itâs stunning views and enjoying family meals cooked with fresh seafood bought direct from the hut near the ferry station in oban harbour. Itâs a great base to explore from and we would recommend the car ferry to the Isle of Mull which is gorgeous and Duart Castle there, island hoping from Mull to Iona where the ruined nunnery and Iona Abby are well worth a visit, there is a cute little sea life sanctuary just passed Oban with a great aquarium and rescue seals who perform tricks at feeding times! We would definitely recommend this cottage and would book again if we come back to Scotland.
