  We recently stayed at Swallows Nest, a fabulous dog-friendly cottage in North Devon, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the attention to detail throughout the property. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and well-equipped - with everything from a fully stocked kitchen with a separate utility room and fast Wi-Fi, cozy sofas, and the comfiest king-sized bed. Every little touch made it feel like a real home-from-home. The location couldn’t have been better - peaceful and rural. Nestled in the heart of the countryside yet just a short drive from the coast, it offered the best of both worlds. We spent our days exploring nearby beaches, charming villages, and costal paths, then returned each evening to the peaceful comfort of the cottage. A big highlight for us was how dog-friendly the cottage was. Our four-legged companion was made just as welcome as we were, with thoughtful touches like treats, throws, and a secure garden which was perfect for morning playtime, and there was a large secure field for use just across the driveway. The garden was a real bonus - perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening while soaking in the views relaxing in the log burning hot-tub. It felt private and serene, like our own little slice of Devon heaven. Whether you're traveling with pets or not, this cottage is a real gem - the perfect base for exploring the best of Devon and Cornwall in comfort and style.. We can’t wait to return!

  We had the most amazing stay at the Cadeleigh.

  The lodge itself was spotless and was even better than the photos with beautiful views of the hills/countryside. It had absolutely everything you could possibly need, which enabled us to have a very relaxing stay. The hot tub was amazing and we were able to get it piping hot which was lovely in the evenings when it’s a bit cooler outside. Its a Japanese hot tub so doesn’t have any jets etc, however this was definitely a positive and we soon realised you definitely wouldn’t want anything/noise from jets to take away from the peaceful surroundings. Penny was the most amazing host and we loved the sweets & bottle of Prosecco on arrival. She also went out of her way on multiple occasions to drop us some additional supplies & toiletries. We were so sad to leave and will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

  We stayed here over new year with our dogs and it was perfect. Beautiful location, amazing cottage, no detail overlooked. Well equipped kitchen and had everything you would find in your own kitchen at home. Perfectly secure garden for the dogs and the hot tub was an added bonus. The host were lovely and made us feel super welcome. Felt like a very private cottage. We did cook most nights but did order takeaway one night as there is a couple in the area. Close by is a town that has all you need if you run out of anything. The cottage was immaculate, bed super comfy and wifi very good. We felt perfectly safe and secure at the cottage but were far enough away from other buildings that we had privacy. Myself, partner and the girls (doggies) had an amazing time here and would love to come back in the future.

  We had a fabulous stay for my wife's birthday weekend.

  The location is fantastic super secluded and piece and quiet is in abundance. Nice little touches chocolates on arrival all the information you could ask for available to hand, walks to restraunts and day trip ideas. While the weather was good we did use the wood burning hot tub ( make sure you keep an eye on the temperature) this was fantastic I did take my eye off the ball and added one too many logs it was hot, but after a while it was perfect for the rest of the evening sat there at night sky fill of stars. The bed is on the smaller side but a standard double I believe. The wet room was great and kitchen facilities were as expected. We would definitely return.

  A stunning cottage in a stunning location. So dark and peaceful at night - utterly blissful. The whole place is finished to a very high standard, with high quality goods - I loved the kettle, and the cooker is a joy! We managed one dip in the hot tub before the weather turned on us, and it was glorious! The local area has a good selection of pubs and eateries within a short drive - I have some dietary issues and was able to find plenty of options. We don't have a dog, but the place is set up for you if you do - lots of rugs to cover the furniture, etc. Clearly lots of thought has been put the finishes and equipment provided.
