  We had a great one week stay at Carisbrooke, Steve and Maureen were fabulous hosts. On arrival they had baked us bread, cake and a rhubarb crumble all very delicious plus they had left us some eggs from their allotment and homemade jam. The house is a good size, well laid out, quiet, comfortable, nicely furnished with everything you could possibly need. The bedroom were comfy and plenty of hot water and decent showers! The kitchen is really well equipped, we cooked a few nights but also had a few take aways, the fish and chips shop is just down the road. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon and the hot tub was great after a day of exploring. Important to note that to get the pizza oven going there is an extra charge as well as the fire place in the lounge. We walked along Pakefield beach one day all the way to Kessingland (some steep steps leading up to a cliff top where you can have lunch overlooking the north sea), beautiful clean beach our daughter enjoyed searching for sea glass and shells. Lots of friendly dog walkers and the beach is sand and pebbles. Days out included Southwold, Alderburgh (best fish and chips is here), Holt, Thrigby Hall, (great wildlife park) Norwich, Thorpeness. Loved our stay in Suffolk and would recommend Carisbrook for future bookers.

  The Cartlodge is perfect. From the spacious bedrooms to the well equipped kitchen and of course the beautiful views. It was perfect for everyone in our party as we could enjoy family time with meals all together in the dining area, time as a couple relaxing in the hot tub and time in the large outdoor garden area with our young child watching the wildlife. The Cartlodge was also in the perfect location. We were close to Ipswich where we could visit friends and also close to the train station meaning we could travel to London. It is the perfect, peaceful, tranquil spot and we absolutely fell in love. We hope to return again in the near future!

  This property has everything you need, the kitchen is well stocked including washing up liquid, the dining room and lounge are comfortable, there is very good WiFi, and the tv has Netflix/Amazon prime. The owners are right next door and there if you need them. They had lots of local knowledge and left us a lovely welcome gift with milk, eggs and home baked bread and cakes. The property is behind gates that are closed at night so safe, private and really quiet. You can walk to a bus stop in 10 minutes to get a bus into Lowestoft, Kessingland or Southwold. This was a lovely property that we would recommend.

  We have had a wonderful time at your wonderful house. So clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and your kind welcome pack. A big thank you to you both for lighting up the pizza oven and letting Matty watch you cook the pizzas. He thought that was a wonderful birthday meal. He will always remember that. You are both great hosts. Also it was very fascinating watching Steve collect the honey from the frames. Also, Maureen's cake and bread were delicious.

  Carisbrooke was the best holiday home we have stayed in! Everything was on point! the owners are the best hosts! they couldn’t of been more helpful to made our stay stress free! A lovely welcome basket of cookies, eggs from their chicken, jam, milk, home made bread and the most delicious lemon drizzle! Perfect location a short walk or a short drive to all the local amenities. We really had the best week away! We wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
