What our customers say about their holidays

Overall the cottage is very nice & clean.
Easy access,& parking outside cottage very good. Buses to all local villages extremely good,no need to use the car.Bakewell is a must,as is the vintage tram village & the cable cars. Noisy ,very busy main road outside cottage but donât let that put you off staying at bobbin cottage as secondary double is very good. Made mistake of leaving bedroom window open first night hardly slept at all â¹ï¸â¹ï¸ But after that closed everything & left bathroom window open for air flow which worked a treat, hardly could hear it at all...stairs are steep & uneven ,hard to handle if you have mobility problems . Be aware their is no garden for a dog to be let out into , just a seat outside the back door . Shower was good, but plug/ drain needs clearing out as standing in 6â water when taking a shower ,takes a age to drain away. Never had a bath , would imagine could take all day to run away not a mayor problem but does need sorting out. We liked bobbin cottage & Cromford, nothing of the above remarks would put us off from returning.

Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful village but spoiled by the busy road and the constant steam of traffic including HGV lorries starting at 5.
30am for light sleepers although there is secondary glazing which helps with the noise. Parking outside the house and normally plenty space. No garden but seat at the back door. No washing machine or dishwasher and only one bath towel per person for a week plus two dish towels but could request more by contacting the owner. We did not bother but thankfully brought spare ones with us Good facilities otherwise with catch up tv, excellent wi fi and plenty pots, crockery etc.. Loved all the guide books and maps for exploring the immediate area and further afield which were appreciated as was the advance information .Cromford is ideally situated to explore the Peak District and lots to see and do in perfect walking country. Did not try any of the local restaurants but there are good and varied choices in the village and nearby Matlock and Wirksworth. Ideal cottage for two. Very clean and some of the facilities may have been restricted by Covid which was reassuring.

We stayed at Dreamwood over the Christmas period and we had the most magical and amazing time.
The lodge was extremely accessible and easy to find, and from the moment that we drove onto the drive, it felt like home from home. The lodge was spotlessly clean, and included everything that anyone could possibly need whilst taking a break away. The subtle touches were truly wonderful, from the eco-friendly toiletries, special treats and and accessories for our fur baby, to the spare towels, pillows and bedding. We even enjoyed a lovely glass of bubbly in the hot tub on Christmas morning, which was a real treat! The owner really did think of everything, and provided wonderful customer service. Jen even approved for us to put up our own Christmas decorations to make it feel more like home, which we really appreciated. I would highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to book again in the future. Many thanks Jen, you and your wonderful lodge were amazing :)

Perfect cottage for two adults and two lurcher dogs (lack of garden does not matter given the beautiful walks on the doorstep).
Tastefully decorated, good sofas and lovely comfortable bed. Kitchen well-equipped, and definitely recommend Arkwrights general store and especially Figgshaws butchers a short walk downhill. If you fancy a meal out we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Tapas bar in the Market Place, it was absolutely delicious and very good value. The walks around Cromford detailed by the owners were great, but also thoroughly enjoyed the Monsal Trail from Blackwell Mill in Chee Dale (where the gentleman at the cycle hire shop was particularly helpful) to Bakewell. Chatsworth House is definitely worth a visit even just the gardens if you have dogs, as is a trip to the Heights of Abraham country park via cable car from Matlcok Bath. Spectacular scenery everywhere, brilliant holiday all round.

Our family of 4 stayed for a week using both the Lodge and the Annex.
The accommodation is very clean and well maintained providing comfortable 3 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms spacious open plan dining and lounge area. The bedrooms were not completely blackout, but the road is not street lit so rooms very dark at night. Jen provided extra fans when requested on the hot arrival day. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked with equipment, but some of the cupboards are high with hinged doors. Plenty of worktop space. The Wi-fi worked very well, with Smart TVs. The gravel drive way has a narrow access for large cars, with a secure gate. We loved that the lodge is on a quiet hill , surrounded by tall trees. Good travel links to London via Hayes Station. Thanks Jen for your quick replies to property queries.
