  Plum Tree Cottage is just what you need for a perfect relaxing break. It is modern yet retains its enchanting character. It has all the facilities you need for a home from home! The enclosed garden is large and the dogs really enjoyed sniffing about. The Plum Tree was just coming into bloom too!! Th.... Plum Tree Cottage is just what you need for a perfect relaxing break. It is modern yet retains its enchanting character. It has all the facilities you need for a home from home! The enclosed garden is large and the dogs really enjoyed sniffing about. The Plum Tree was just coming into bloom too!! The Owners are really friendly and take every care to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.They were on hand if there were any queries (not that we needed them at all) The Cottage is set back in the Grounds of Doverhay Place with a long sweeping drive. As it is set back from the main road it is so peaceful. Within 10 mins you can walk to Porlock Town along a rather pretty path. Porlock is shrouded in history. It also has plenty of pubs and cafes offering delicious pub food and cream teas!!! There are a few shops too including a local butchers! There are amazing walks along the pebbled beach also 10 mins walk from Plum Tree. Here we saw numerous ground nesting birds. The sound of the sea on the pebbles and the singing of the birds was wonderful. If you feel more energetic a walk to Bossington and Hurlestone Point where the views are amazing!!! You can also reward yourself with a rather nice cake!!!!! All in all Plum tree Cottage has it all, the peace and quiet and the accessibility to the outside world. (its even got amazing Wifi and a mobile phone signal!) We are rather chuffed with our little find and reluctantly share it with you. We will be booking again and again

  Lovely house suited us well. Nana in downstairs bedroom and Son and 3 kids upstairs. Garden is the best, kids loved that for football and cricket and bbq's. Walk into village is good with back lane available though Village a bit tired and fair number of places closed down but still all we neede.... Lovely house suited us well. Walk into village is good with back lane available though Village a bit tired and fair number of places closed down but still all we needed and pub with pool worked well too. Porlock Weir is great with pubs and stony beach for kids to run about on and the open top bus is a must especially as Lynton and Lynmouth are charming and great fun. Great stay very little negative comment - Minehead is not the best spot until you move away from the centre although for small kids a day to Butlins is an exciting bonus. Booking and communication good and at site help extremely good. Thankyou for that. For us better beaches nearby would have been a bonus but scenery otherwise totally stunning especially from Porlock Hill on the bus! Great place all round

I have stayed at one of Plum Tree Cottage's adjoining properties - Little Court Apartment - and been more than impressed by the owner's attention and care to see that everything is satisfactory. Plum Tree was no different and we received another warm welcome. The property, as advertised, has been refurbished to a very high order and has all the mod-cons you will need to make your break a 'home from home'. I love walking and whether that be the short trip into the village, or more extensive walks along the coast path, marshes etc.; Plum Tree Cottage is ideally placed. I'm also into wildlife and the wild birds that can be seen from the cottage, on some days, were more varied than I cam across when specifically looking for them on a walk! I can heartily recommend a visit to Plum Tree Cottage!

  Wow, a tremendous cottage, spacious, comfortable and with a nice welcoming supply package. It is in a very quiet rural location which was ideal for the five of us. The grandchildren enjoyed their time playing in the large grassed garden. The private pathway giving access to nearby Porlock was a bon.... Wow, a tremendous cottage, spacious, comfortable and with a nice welcoming supply package. It is in a very quiet rural location which was ideal for the five of us. The grandchildren enjoyed their time playing in the large grassed garden. The private pathway giving access to nearby Porlock was a bonus, no need to use the car to visit the village. Our week as spent quite locally visiting Selworthy, Dunster and it’s Castle, Porlock Weir, The Doone Valley, Exmoor itself and a little further away Lynton and Lynmouth, with The Valley of the Rocks, Winsford and Dulverton. Most enjoyable and should we be fortunate enough to holiday again with our daughter and grandchildren Plum Tree Cottage would be our first choice.   A good place, here's some less often mentioned in reviews. Key safe is easiest I've used. Large attractive garden is great for dog, secure & with buckets, brush & outside tap. Towels large and soft. Rooms large and comfortable, twin room is compact. Showers and hot water supply good. Cooker and heat.... A good place, here's some less often mentioned in reviews. Showers and hot water supply good. Cooker and heating work well. Plenty of storage space. Porlock has quirky shops and all essentials. Great walks from door, folder of walks with maps, also good books about area. Prompt, understanding and helpful response to contact about an accidental breakage. TV channel list makes it look like you can get SKY channels etc (doesn't blank them) but only freeview ones are available. Walkway to town muddy in wet weather. Happy to recommend.
