Overall the cottage is lovely and in a great location. Country walks on the doorstep and only 10 minute walk into Cirencester. In some areas the cottage needs a little TLC. The bathroom could do with a really good clean around the skirting boards and shower area. We found the bedding in the kingsize bedroom smelt fusty, probably from not being completely dry when it’s been washed and the bed needs a mattress topper, it’s very bobbled on the top which you can feel through the sheet. It definitely wouldn’t put me off staying at the cottage and we are planning on booking again in the New Year.

I had trouble with the Yale lock on the front door and thought I would be locked out for the night. Fortunately a neighbor had a phone no. to ring and was able to get help. This help had a spare set of keys and after some alarming time was able to fiddle the lock to open and we disarmed the lock with black tape for the rest of the holiday(5days).Also the handwash basin in the shower room was blocked and unusable. Following repeated phone calls to the emergency no. with no answer back I gave up. Very disappointed with the service.. Also the tv was a mistery. One needed 2 handsets to operate it. No instructions were given.

The location was good. Overall the property needs some tlc and felt uncared for. Examples being the hanging clothes basket in second bedroom was broken, there was only one hanger for trousers, no mirror and there was a musty smell. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom and one of the drawers had a handle hanging off. The main bedroom bed had no mattress protector on the and the mattress was bobbled and the pillows smelt musty. In the kitchen there was only one tea towel, only one oven shelf which made coking a challenge, the oven clock didn't work and the feature clock in the lounge wasn't working either. The cottage was tastefully furnished and the sofas were comfortable and it wouldn't take much effort to make it a great place to stay in the Cotswolds and we loved Cirencester.
