  The cottage is in a lovely part of the Cotswolds and there is a good pub with a few minutes walk and many fabulous footpaths in the vicinity. Linda (the landlady) was very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. The cottage itself has been well renovated and has a modern feel to it inside. The main bedroom is very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and is well appointed, the lounge area also spacious and comfortable with a pleasant ambience. The kitchen area is well sized and adequately functional but it is unfortunate that some of the worktops and dining table carry stains from previous tenants. On the downside, upon entering, the cleanliness was not really to a standard we would expect and the glassware and plates, etc. were somewhat eclectic; the latter not really a problem for us, just an observation. The access is not great with a small pathway through a neighbouring property; not easy to navigate if you arrive late. The terrace and garden furniture are fine but with a bit of maintenance could be so much better. The garden would also be so much better with some more maintenance as it was somewhat overgrown.

  The House was amazing and defo had the wow factor when we arrived.

  The owners have literally thought of everything that you could possibly need and then left a lovely welcome basket of goodies and some milk. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we wanted to take up squatters rights. The facilities are brilliant with games room and gym. I had a couple of questions to start and the housekeeper came out straight away and was really helpful. Having an annexe was a real bonus as it meant the family had the house and I could have my granny annexe. The slight downside for us was some of the maintenance. The outside front door didn’t close properly which we felt was a security issue with kids in the house. The banister in the annexe was loose and a few other niggles. Also thought an extra £150 to use hot tub on top of holiday cost was a lot. Would it stop us going again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? In a heartbeat.   I stayed at Mole End Cottage for a week in June with my mother (and her dog!). This is the third year we have stayed at a Rural Retreats property (having stayed near to Burford on the two previous occasions). We really enjoyed our stay - it is a lovely, comfortable cottage, which has been updated (by Linda, the owner) with modern features, whilst retaining its original character. It was really pleasant to sit out in the well maintained cottage garden in the fine weather, something the dog appreciated as well! Linda was very helpful in dealing with our enquires, taking the time to come over to the cottage to sort things out for us. The village is very peaceful and is well placed for exploring the Cotswolds, with Cirencester being just a few miles down the road. Even closer are North Cerney Gardens, which is worth a visit.We will certainly consider making a return visit in the future. Many thanks.

  The Little Paddock was a holiday home that felt like a real home.

  It was very comfortable, very clean and very well furnished and was ideal for our 3 generation family celebration holiday. The games room, snooker table, gym and hot tub were well used and the tub very well maintained by Dion. Any problems we had were soon sorted by Rob and Dion who were always at the end of the phone. A few minor quibbles were the size of the dishwasher which wasn’t really big enough for 8 and that it and the fridge were in the utility room rather than the kitchen. The dining room table only seated 6 not 8 and an extra settee would have been useful in the sitting room when we all wanted to be together. As said these are minor quibbles and we would definitely recommend The Little Paddock which was also in a good location for getting out and about. In better weather the garden too would be lovely. A big thank you to Rob & Dion for an excellent base for our holiday.

  A lovely spacious home, big enough for our party of 8.

  Hot tub although at an extra cost was a nice addition. Not sure it was checked during our stay as we spent days out. Owner was always on hand via text and responded promptly. Even telling us when next doors field was being cut, very exciting for our grandson when the big tractor turned up. Everything that's needed for a comfortable stay is here. The addition of a nightlight maybe nice as our grandson did have a nightmare and lost his bearings lots of lights on timers, we didn't like to disturb! Yes the road at times is used as a bit of a racetrack to some idiots but you do however have ease of access to Bath, Bristol etc. Good places to eat in Malmesbury too. The bungalow comes with a fabulous games room which was used plenty. A very nice holiday home and perfect for a big family gathering.
